Pakistan beat New Zealand by six wickets to keep their hopes of making it to the World Cup 2019 semifinals alive.

Neesham was then joined by Colin de Grandhomme and the two staged a recovery for the Blackcaps. The pair, who came together at 83-5, added 132 for the sixth wicket, repairing the damage after a collapse following Kane Williamson’s decision to bat in overcast conditions in Birmingham. @AFP


Neesham, meanwhile, remained unbeaten on 97. The left-hander hit five fours and three sixes in his 112-ball stay in the middle and helped New Zealand post a respectable total of 237 on the board. @AFP


Mohammad Hafeez joined Babar Azam after the fall of Imam and the Hafeez-Babar pair added 66 runs together to take Pakistan past hundred. @AFP

Chasing 238 runs to win, Pakistan were off to a brisk start as Fakhar Zaman and Imam-ul-Haq hit four fours in first 13 balls. @AFP

While Sohail was run out, his 126-run stand partnership was vital in Pakistan’s six-wicket win over New Zealand. The win kept Pakistan’s hopes of making it to the semifinals alive and ended New Zealand’s unbeaten streak in World Cup 2019. @AFP


Babar, meanwhile, brought up his third fifty-plus score in the ongoing World Cup and along with it, became the second fastest to score 3000 ODI runs. @AFP


While Mitchell Santner Haris Sohail, the left-hander, who had scored a match-winning 89 in Pakistan’s last game against South Africa, he did not give his wicket away and scored his second successive fifty in the World Cup 2019. @AFP
