IND vs ENG: In Gautam Gambhir’s absence, THIS person is set to take over the role of Head coach of Indian Test team

A few days before the five-match Test series against England, Gautam Gambhir had to return to India because of a family emergency. In case he is not able to return by the time the series begins, the Board of Control for Cricket in India have selected former legend as the replacement head coach.

Indian team was given a great shock a few days before the five-match Test series against England- as head coach Gautam Gambhir had to return to the country because of ‘family emergencies’. It was reported that his mother had been admitted in ICU because of a heart attack.

BCCI has selected a replacement:
Only 5 days are left for the five-match Test series between India and England to begin. Massive intel has now been coming out as the series is coming close each day. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has selected a legend as the replacement head coach in case Gautam Gambhir remains absent for any of the matches.

VVS Laxman will handle the team:
As per a report by Inside Sports, until Gautam Gambhir returns to England and coach the team- the role of the head coach will be given to former Indian legend VVS Laxman.

VVS Laxman has previously coached Indian team:
VVS Laxman is currently the president of the National Cricket Academy (NCA). However, he has previously been seen coaching the Indian team. During the time when Rahul Dravid was head coach and not present with the team, Laxman was seen taking up the responsibility.

Uncertainty over Gautam Gambhir returning to England:
As mentioned above, Gautam Gambhir’s mother had a heart attach due to which he had to return immediately. If reports are to be believed, Gambhir will not be able to return to England till the first match of the five-match series.
