Ishan Kishan signs a short-term deal: Will play for THIS team as a replacement player in County Cricket

India's wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan has signed a short-term deal, and is going to play county cricket as a replacement player.

India’s wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan has signed a short-term deal, which has subject him to international clearance with Nottinghamshire to play two County matches. Ishan will play as a replacement for South Africa’s Kyle Verreynne, and will be available for selection for matches against Yorkshire and Somerset.

Kyle Verreynne is a member of South Africa’s World Test Championship (WTC) 2025 final winning side, and is going to be engaged in national duties for a two-Test series against Zimbabwe.

I’m feeling very excited to get my first taste of playing county cricket in England, and it will be a great chance to showcase my skills,” Kishan was quoted as saying by Nottinghamshire’s website.

I want to make sure I am the best cricketer I can be, and playing in English conditions will really help me to learn new skills. Trent Bridge is such a famous ground that is well-known in India and around the world, and I am really excited that I will be playing there,” Ishan added.

The 26-year-old has featured in two Tests for India, a combined 59 One-Day and T20 international appearances, and recently played in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, will be available for Nottinghamshire ‘s red-ball fixtures this month.
