‘Knows what he’s doing…’: Former England all-rounder praised Ravindra Jadeja for fighting till the end in Lord’s Test

Following India's 22-run loss at Lord's, former England allrounder Moeen Ali praised Ravindra Jadeja for fighting till the end for his team.

Indian team lost the Lord’s Test against England by a margin of 22 runs. The visitors are now trailing 2-1. The match was full of suspense and tension as both the teams had posted a tied score of 387 runs for their first innings. In the second innings, England scored 192 runs , which the Indian side failed to chase.

Even though it was a low-scoring total, the visitors faced a collapse in their top-order batting, and the onus was on star allrounder Ravindra Jadeja along with tail-ender Mohammed Siraj. Both of them were playing tactically, but luck was on the hosts’ side as Siraj got bowled out in an unfortunate manner. Speaking about the match, former England allrounder Moeen Ali praised ‘Jaddu’ for his exquisite batting.

He just knows what he’s doing. I think he’s done it for many years. I think he’s been amazing with the bat this series. Obviously I think with the ball, he hasn’t quite got the wickets, but he does what he does. He’s very tight. He can bowl, but he’s not outstanding. He’s been batting well for a few years now I think,” said Moeen Ali.

Especially even last time they came to England, he batted brilliantly, and I think now he’s at the peak of his batting. Bowling wise, I think he just doesn’t have the wickets. With the tally, I think he’s bowled well, he just doesn’t have the wickets,” he added.

Even though the Indian team lost the Lord’s Test and are trailing the series 1-2, they still have a chance to win as they aim to win the upcoming two matches- with the next match set to be held at Manchester from July 23rd.
