Well, not literally! Seen in the picture is Scottish batting all-rounder Richie Berrington attempting to make way for the ball which was struck hard for a boundary by fellow team mate and wicket-keeper batsman Matthew Cross during the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 match between Scotland and Bangladesh at the Saxton Oval in Nelson on Thursday.

Going by the picture, Berrington anticipated that Cross’ move to sneak a boundary off Bangladesh’s Taskin Ahmed, but the ball came straight at his direction which he unsuccessfully tried to avoid but in vain. The ball meant to earn Scotland four runs hit the batsman’s wrist hard which dislodged his bat, leaving him with pain.

To Berrington’s disappointment, he was dismissed on the very next ball by Ahmed after scoring 26 runs in 16 balls. Scotland eventually lost the Pool A match to Bangladesh by six wickets to suffer their fourth consecutive defeat in the tournament after failing to defend their 319-run target.
