The Indian women’s cricket team began their tour of England on a high note, thanks to a historic century from star batter Smriti Mandhana. In the opening T20I at Trent Bridge, Mandhana smashed a blistering 112 the highest individual score in the history of Indian women’s T20 cricket.

Mandhana became only the second female cricketer to score a T20I century for India

Mandhana, who was captaining Team India in this match, completed her century in just 51 balls and with this scored her first century in T20 International. She became only the second female cricketer to score a T20I century for India. Before her, Harmanpreet Kaur (103) had scored a century in 2018.

Smriti Mandhana became the first Indian woman cricketer to score a century in all three formats. She already has 11 centuries in ODIs and 2 in Tests. Overall, she is only the fifth woman in international cricket to achieve this feat.

Smriti also became the first female cricketer to score a T20 century at Trent Bridge

Smriti has also become the first female cricketer to score a T20 century at Trent Bridge. She is only the second Indian cricketer to achieve this feat on this ground. Before her, this feat was achieved by Suryakumar Yadav in 2022, who played an innings of 117 runs.

Mandhana smashed 15 fours and 3 sixes

Smriti Mandhana smashed 15 fours and 3 sixes during her innings, becoming the Indian batter with the most boundaries (18) in a single T20 International innings. She broke the previous record of 15 boundaries set by Harmanpreet Kaur.
