The special thing about ‘The World Club Championship’ will be that the teams that will play in it are the champions of the rest of the world’s T20 leagues like IPL, BBL, CPL, PSL, SA 20 and The Hundred. The possibility of the return of the Champions League T20 seems strong, even if with a new name and in a new style. According to reports, BCCI and ECB are in talks with ICC Chairman Jay Shah regarding its approval.

Both CSK and MI have won the title same number of times

Champions League T20 was started in 2009. This tournament was played till 2014. But then it was banned due to the hassle of getting sponsorship and its poor TRP. Just like IPL, Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians have also written the story of their dominance in Champions League T20. Chennai Super Kings won the Champions League T20 title twice under Dhoni’s captaincy. They won it in 2010 and 2014 whereas, Mumbai Indians have also won the Champions League T20 the same number of times.
