Tillakaratne Dilshan scores 42 in his final ODI innings

After the 2nd ODI against AustraliaSri Lankan veteran Tillakaratne Dilshan announced his retirement from international cricket. In the 3rd ODI, his final, at Dambulla, the Lankan legend scored 42. Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat first. Dilshan played extremely well for his 42, which contained five boundaries. Sri Lanka got off to a rocky start by losing a couple of early wickets. Dilshan represented Sri Lanka in 330 ODIs in which, he amassed 10290 runs at 39.27. He scored 22 ODI hundreds, out of which 12 came after he turned 35. In addition to this, Dilshan also has 106 wickets to his name. If needed, he could don the wicketkeeping gloves too.He ends as the 11th highest run-scorer in ODIs and fourth highest by a Sri Lankan cricketer. Dilshan is undoubtedly one of the greatest players to have played the game and will be remembered as a legend.
