After the end of 2nd day’s play, Sammy criticized the decisions of third umpire in a press conference, and demanded consistency in the DRS.

Darren Sammy had expressed his disappointment that Adrian Holdstock made two different decision on two similar catches behind the wicket. A decision of not-out for Australian batsman Travis Head while West Indies wicketkeeper-batter Shai Hope was given out.

West Indies new Test captain Roston Chase also acknowledged the questionable decision affected match results. After the match, Roston said that the clash was disappointing for him and the team, as they had bowled out Australia for a relatively low score. Chase then said that there were a lot of questionable decisions which did not go in their favour.

Roston Chase called for accountability on the umpires’ side, suggesting that officials should face penalties for making obvious mistakes. Chase said that it’s frustrating because as players when they make mistakes they get harshly punished, but that’s never the case with match officials. Roston also stated that a single wrong decision can make or break a players’ career.
