Ibrahim Zadranc Mahmudullah b Taijul Islam 21 69 3 0 30.43
24.1
T Islam to Zadran, OUT! Zadran has thrown his wicket away. He was looking solid in defense but wonder if the six from Rahmat excited him and he thought to get one for himself as well. Flighted ball on middle, skips down the track and looks to power this one over the long off fielder. He does so but without timing as it goes high in the air. Mahmudullah, the long off fielder runs to his left to pouch this one nicely. Wicket number two for Taijul.
Ihsanullahb Taijul Islam 9 36 0 0 25
12.2
Islam to Ihsanullah, OUT! BOWLED! Taijul strikes! A cracking ball to get the first wicket. Flatter ball on middle, it pitches on middle. Ihsanullah looks to defend the original trajectory but the ball turns away, goes past the outside edge of the batter's bat and hits the stumps behind. A dream delivery! The openers were doing well in negotiating the spinners till now but not a lot the batter could have done there. Wicket number 100 for him in Tests.
Rahmat Shahc Soumya Sarkar b Nayeem Hasan 102 187 10 2 54.55
69.3
N Hasan to Shah, OUT! Caught! Hundred and out! Rahmat will be kicking himself. He was looking so good out in the middle but maybe the milestone has brought in a lapse of concentration here. Slower through the air closer to off pole. Rahmat goes for a big drive but the ball kisses the outside edge of his bat and goes low to first slip. Soumya Sarkar there shows good reflexes and takes a very good catch. End of a brilliant knock from the Afghani batter though. He will get a lot of praise for this and rightfully so.
Hashmatullah Shahidic Soumya Sarkar b Mahmudullah 14 32 2 0 43.75
32.4
Mahmudullah to H Shahidi, OUT! EDGED AND TAKEN! The bowling change works wonders. Mahmudullah, out of all the spinners Bangladesh have, is the one to get the breakthrough. A sharp catch there by the slip fielder. Not easy when it goes that quickly. Mahmudullah bowls this flatter and shorter outside off. Shahidi looks to play it late but the ball skids through, flies off the outside edge and Sarkar at first slip takes it nicely. The Bangladesh players are ecstatic. Shahidi walks back without making an impact. The other players follow him too as IT IS LUNCH ON DAY 1!
Asghar Afghanc Mushfiqur Rahim b Taijul Islam 92 174 3 2 52.87
99.6
T Islam to Afghan, OUT! Caught! Early breakthrough for Bangladesh. The well set Asghar Afghan is out of here. The former skipper cannot continue his patience from Day 1 and departs very cheaply here. Slower through the air on middle, this one spins just a hint. For some reason, Asghar Afghan loses his temperament and composure and goes for a wild, unnecessary slog sweep against the spin. He gets no connection on it and ends up getting a thick top edge. The ball lobs up high in the air just on the side of the pitch on the leg side. Afghan looks down as soon as it goes up as he knows that this was his end. Mushfiqur Rahim calls for it and takes a simple catch. End of a good knock from the experienced Afghan but he will be gutted by the mode of this dismissal and missing out on a well deserved century.
Mohammad Nabib Nayeem Hasan 0 3 0 0 0
69.6
Hasan to M Nabi, OUT! Bowled! Nabi walks back without troubling the scorers. This one spins and keeps low as well. It is pitched on off and middle, Nabi gets on his back foot and looks to punch it on the off side. The ball though keeps low and goes under his bat to disturb the off pole. Second wicket of the over and this has been a dream start to the new session for the hosts. Afghanistan getting pushed back again here.
Afsar Zazai (W)b Taijul Islam 41 115 4 1 35.65
105.2
Islam to A Zazai, OUT! Bowled! Gem of a delivery this from Taijul. He gives this one air and bowls it slower on middle and off. Afsar looks to defend but the ball grips and turns off the surface, squaring up Zazai. The ball goes on to disturb the off pole. Bangladesh's best bowler of the game so far gets another one to his name. His fourth of the game and this would be the one he will relish the most as this was an ideal wicket for a left-arm spinner. Bangladesh's bright start to the day continues.
Rashid Khan (C)c & b Mehidy Hasan 51 61 2 3 83.61
116.6
Hasan to Khan, OUT! CAUGHT AND BOWLED! Rashid's magnificent innings comes to an end. It is a flighted delivery on middle and leg, Rashid dances down the track and tries to loft the ball over Mehidy's head but does not get the required elevation on it. Mehidy jumps up and takes the catch on the second attempt. This quickfire innings from Rashid has got the visitors a score near 350 which is a good one on this wicket. AFGHANISTAN ARE BOWLED OUT FOR 342.
Qais Ahmadc Mominul Haque b Shakib Al Hasan 9 15 1 0 60
108.6
Al Hasan to Ahmad, OUT! Caught! Qais' short entertaining stay comes to an end. Shakib gives it air around off. Qais plants out his front foot and looks to defend but ends up getting a thick inside edge onto his pads. The ball then lobs up to the left of silly point. Mominul Haque there takes a good catch. The 23-run stand comes to an end.
Yamin Ahmadzaic Soumya Sarkar b Shakib Al Hasan 0 7 0 0 0
112.5
Al Hasan to Ahmadzai, OUT! Ahmadzai is out of here! It is a flighted delivery on middle, Ahmadzai attempts to defend off the front foot but gets an inside edge onto his pads which goes towards Soumya Sarkar at first slip. Second wicket for Shakib here. Now it is up to Rashid Khan to get Afghanistan to a good score.

Shadman Islamc Afsar Zazai b Yamin Ahmadzai 0 4 0 0 0
0.4
Y Ahmadzai to Islam, OUT! Caught behind! Dream start for the visitors. They would have been looking for an early breakthrough and they have got it in the very first over. Ahmadzai steams in and bowls a good length ball around off. It is in the channel. The ball moves away just a bit. Shadman goes to defend it tentatively and ends up getting a thick outside edge. It goes dipping low to the left of the keeper. Afsar Zazai corrects his foot movement that was initially going the other way and takes a very good low catch. Early setback for the Bangla Tigers.
Soumya Sarkarlbw b Mohammad Nabi 17 66 0 0 25.76
19.4
M Nabi to Sarkar, OUT! LBW! Nabi finally gets his reward as he was bowling excellently since the beginning of the innings. It is a quicker delivery on middle and leg, Sarkar looks to flick but misses. The ball hits him on the pads and the Afghan players put up a strong appeal. The umpire gives it out immediately. Sarkar knows he is a goner and turns his back immediately. Replay shows why he knew he was out because he was dead in front of the stumps. So Soumya departs after fighting it out in the middle but not capitalizing on it.
Liton Dasb Rashid Khan 33 66 3 1 50
24.6
Khan to L Das, OUT! Bowled! The Afghan superstar strikes in the last ball of his very first over. And it is the big fish, Liton Das. Rashid bowls it short and quick on off, Das misreads the length and looks to pull it away. The ball is not short enough. He gets a slight inside edge onto the stumps. Rashid is up and running in joy and why wouldn't he be? A very unwanted shot from Liton. He won't look back at it fondly. Just when he was starting to get into a scoring groove he has departed. Bangladesh in a spot of bother here.
Mominul Haquec Asghar Afghan b Mohammad Nabi 52 71 8 0 73.24
41.4
M Nabi to Haque, OUT! Caught! Mominul Haque's fight comes to an end. Nabi has the last laugh! Floated delivery on off, Mominul looks to clear the man at mid on. He does not time it well and does not even get the desired elevation. The ball goes straight to Asghar Afghan. He makes no mistake and this looks like the final nail in Bangladesh innings.
Shakib Al Hasan (C)lbw b Rashid Khan 11 20 1 0 55
32.4
Khan to Hasan, OUT! LBW! Body blow for Bangladesh! They have not just lost their star man and skipper, they have lost one review as well. The Afghanistan skipper gets the better of his counterpart. Smart bowling this, quicker ball pitching on middle. It straightens after pitching. Shakib looks to defend but misses and the ball hits him flush on the front pad. The Afghanistan players put in a loud appeal and the umpire raises the dreaded finger. Shakib takes the review straightaway. Replay rolls in and Ultra Edge shows there is no bat involved. Hawk Eye then rolls in and it shows three reds. Shakib has to walk back and Afghanistan are all over Bangladesh like a rash.
Mushfiqur Rahim (W)c Ibrahim Zadran b Rashid Khan 0 2 0 0 0
32.6
R Khan to Rahim, OUT! The soft signal has played a decisive role here and the T.V umpire has gone with that. Quicker and short on top of middle. Mushfiqur gets on his back foot and looks to defend. He does so off the upper half of his bat. The ball hits the boot and lobs up to the right of short leg. Ibrahim Zadran there shows great reflexes and takes a brilliant catch. The Afghanistan players start celebrating but Rahim is going nowhere. Both the umpires get together and take it upstairs with the SOFT SIGNAL AS OUT. Replay rolls in, there is patch of dust popping which makes it difficult to figure whether the ball hit the ground or not. After a few looks the T.V umpire signals OUT on the giant screen. Massive blow this for Bangladesh as the experienced Mushfiqur Rahim walks back without troubling the scorers. With that, it is Tea on Day 2!
Mahmudullahb Rashid Khan 7 13 1 0 53.85
38.1
Khan to Mahmudullah, OUT! Bowled! 6th one down for Bangladesh and it looks like they do not have any answers for Rashid Khan. 4th wicket for the Afghanistan captain and boy isn't this little genius leading like a champion. Short on off, it skids off the surface and keeps low. Mahmudullah looks to play it off the back foot but gets completely squared up as the ball does not rise. The off stump is rattled and Bangladesh are looking down and out.

Ahmad to M Hasan, OUT! Bowled around his legs! Maiden Test wicket for the leggie. Full and outside leg, Mehidy got down to paddle but he misjudged the line and the length. He missed it and the ball hit the middle stump. Qais celebrates.
Taijul Islamb Mohammad Nabi 14 58 2 0 24.14
67.3
M Nabi to T Islam, OUT! Bowled! Excellent start to the day for the visitors. Taijul fails to add to his overnight score here. Nabi bowls a loopy delivery on off, Taijul goes for a hoick in the first over of the day and misses. The ball goes on to hit the stumps. This shot was not needed at all so early on in the day. He needed to support Mosaddek and get as close as possible to Afghanistan's score. But he went for glory but the only place he has gone with that is back to the pavillion. Nabi gets his third and he is having a farewell Test to remember so far.
Nayeem Hasanlbw b Rashid Khan 7 12 1 0 58.33
70.5
Khan to Hasan, OUT! LBW! The skipper Rashid Khan becomes the first player from Afghanistan to take a five-fer in Tests. Excellent bowling performance from him and it has helped the visitors take a huge lead of 137 runs on this wicket. Coming to the ball, Rashid bowls a googly around off, Nayeem does not pick it and attempts to leave the ball after getting down on one knee. The ball goes on to hit the front pad. Afghan players appeal and the umpire gives it out. Hasan immediately goes for a review which seems in desperation. The replays roll in and Hawk Eye shows three reds. With that, Bangladesh have been bowled out for 205.

Ihsanullahlbw b Shakib Al Hasan 4 3 1 0 133.33

Al Hasan to Ihsanullah, OUT! LBW! Ihsanullah falls after hitting a boundary of the first ball of the innings. Shakib bowls a loopy delivery on middle, Ihsanullah looks to defend but misses. It hits the front pad and the players appeal. The umpire has no hesitation in giving it out. Ihsanullah consults with his partner but does not opt for the review. The replays roll in and it shows that it was umpire's call. Afghanistan would not have lost the review but Ihsanullah would have had to continue his walk to the pavilion. Excellent start to the innings for Bangladesh.
Ibrahim Zadranc Mominul Haque b Nayeem Hasan 87 208 6 4 41.83
64.2
N Hasan to Zadran, OUT! CAUGHT! Zadran falls after a magnificent innings. Was that shot needed when he was reaching so close to a century? I think not. Coming to the ball, It is a loopy ball on middle, Ibrahim looks to clear the long on fielder for a maximum but is unable to get the required distance on it. Mominul at long on takes a simple catch. 87 is considered to be an unlucky score for Australia but here Ibrahim Zadran faces the brunt of it.
Rahmat Shahc & b Shakib Al Hasan 0 1 0 0 0
0.4
Hasan to Shah, OUT! Caught! Soft dismissal! Bangladesh are out with the ball with a bang. Skipper Shakib Al Hasan is on a hat-trick now. Tossed up delivery on off, Rahmat comes down the track and looks to push it straight. He hits it uppishly straight to Shakib. He shows good reflexes and takes a fine catch on his followthrough. The centurion from the first innings walks out for a golden duck. What a great leveler this game of cricket is. The skipper took the charge with the ball and he is leading from the front just like his counter-part did. Big and early set backs for the visitors here. 4/2 but technically they are 141/2.
Hashmatullah Shahidic Soumya Sarkar b Nayeem Hasan 12 37 2 0 32.43
14.4
N Hasan to H Shahidi, OUT! CAUGHT! Beautiful bowling from Nayeem and an equally gorgeous catch from Soumya Sarkar! Shahidi has to make the long walk back. Nayeem bowls a flatter delivery on middle, it turns and zips away from the batter. Shahidi looks to defend but ends up getting a thick outside edge. The ball goes quickly to the right of first slip. Soumya Sarkar is quick to react and takes a very good catch. This combination of Nayeem and Soumya worked in the first innings and they have got one more in the second. Afghanistan are effectively 165 for 3 here.
Asghar Afghanc Shakib Al Hasan b Taijul Islam 50 108 4 2 46.3
50.6
T Islam to Afghan, OUT! Caught this time! At last a wicket for Bangladesh. Beautiful bowling by Taijul. Tossed up outside leg, Asghar, like on the previous deliveries, thinks about playing. But at the last moment, he looks to pad it away. The ball hits his pads, then hits his bat and lobs in the air. Easy catch for Shakib Al Hasan at leg slip. They appeal but Afghan walks off, without even waiting for the umpire's decision. End of another good knock and the 108-run stand is broken.

Mohammad Nabic Mominul Haque b Mehidy Hasan 8 13 0 1 61.54
67.2
M Hasan to Nabi, OUT! CAUGHT! Mohammad Nabi does not have a memorable final Test with the bat. Nabi came out with an aggressive approach, it worked for a while but that has also brought about his downfall here. Floated delivery on middle and off, Nabi looks to play the big sweep. He does not time it well and he does not get the desired elevation as well and the ball goes straight to the man at square leg. Mominul Haque there takes a simple catch. Afghanistan have come out with an aggressive approach in this final session.
Rashid Khan (C)b Taijul Islam 24 22 6 0 109.09
73.3
T Islam to Khan, OUT! BOWLED! Rashid falls after playing a handy cameo here. His innings has swelled up the lead to 347. It is a very full ball turning a bit, Rashid came down the track looking to play the drive but misses it completely. The question now stands that when will Afghanistan declare?
Qais Ahmadlbw b Shakib Al Hasan 14 26 2 0 53.85
82.5
Al Hasan to Ahmad, OUT! LBW! Qais Ahmad is out of here. It is a flighted delivery on middle, Qais looks to defend but misses it. The ball goes on to hit the pads of the batsman which is close to the bat. Bangladesh players appeal and the umpire gives it out. Qais after consulting with his partner decides to opt for the review. The replays roll in and the Ultra Edge shows that there is no bat. Ball Tracker rolls in and shows that it is umpire's call. It looked like it had gone off the bat but it was not to be. Qais has to make the long walk back.
Yamin Ahmadzairun out (Liton Das) 9 11 0 1 81.82
88.5
Al Hasan to A Zazai, RUN OUT! Ahmadzai is gone this time. Outside off, angling in, Zazai backs away to the leg side and punches it towards cover. He sets off quickly for the single but his partner is caught napping. He takes off late and by that time the throw comes to the keeper, albeit a bit wide. Rahim collects and then drags himself onto the stumps to dislodge the bails. Referred upstairs but replays show that Yamin is gone this time.
Zahir Khanc Mominul Haque b Mehidy Hasan 0 2 0 0 0

M Hasan to Khan, OUT! CAUGHT! It takes just one ball for Mehidy this morning to wrap things up. Full and outside off, Zahir lunges to defend but the ball flies off the bat's outside edge towards silly point. A sharp catch by Mominul Haque and that ends the innings. AFGHANISTAN ALL OUT FOR 260!

Khan to Das, OUT! LBW! No review taken! Dead duck. Floated around middle, Das goes back and tries to work it to the leg side but misses and is hit on the pads as the ball stays low. Zahir appeals and runs towards the keeper in celebration. Nigel Llong has no hesitation again and Liton does not bother cross-checking. Ball Tracker shows it to be hitting the stumps. Big moment for Zahir as he has picked his first Test wicket.
Shadman Islamlbw b Mohammad Nabi 41 114 4 0 35.96
36.4
M Nabi to Islam, OUT! Plumb LBW! Another dead duck. Bangladesh batsmen continue to play outside the line. Another one does not pick it. Nothing extraordinary about this delivery but just that it was pretty straight. Pitched around off and then coming in with the angle. Shadman thought that it will not come in that much and got half-forward. Pinged on the pads and up went the finger. No review thoughts. Hawk Eye shows all three reds, hitting leg stump. Half the side down, where is the rain to help Bangladesh?
Mosaddek Hossainc Asghar Afghan b Zahir Khan 12 17 0 0 70.59
16.5
Z Khan to Hossain, OUT! CAUGHT! Mosaddek is out of here! Zahir is ecstatic as he gets his second wicket in his debut match. Bowls a googly around off, Mosaddek looks for a lofted drive over cover but ends up getting a top edge towards long off. Asghar runs after it from cover and takes an excellent catch falling on the ground in the meantime. Zahir, after a poor first innings, is making amends here with two quick wickets.
Mushfiqur Rahim (W)lbw b Rashid Khan 23 25 4 0 92

Khan to Rahim, OUT! LBW! Mushfiqur has to make the long walk back to the pavilion. Excellent ball from Rashid! Bowls a flighted delivery on middle, Rahim looks to defend but is hit on the front pad. Rashid puts in a huge appeal and the umpire after some thought gives it out. Rahim has a bit of an angry or a shocked look and then opts for a review. The replays roll in and Ultra Edge detects nothing when the ball passes the glove. The Hawk Eye shows three reds. Another failure for Rahim.
Mominul Haquelbw b Rashid Khan 3 8 0 0 37.5

R Khan to Haque, OUT! LBW! Excellent bowling this from Rashid! Bowls a terrific legspinner around off, which spins into the batsman, Mominul looks to flick but misses and gets hit on the pads. Rashid puts in a huge appeal and the umpire gives it out. Mominul thinks of a review but opts against it. Good decision in the end as Hawk Eye shows that it was three reds on replay. Second wicket for Rashid in this innings.
Shakib Al Hasan (C)c Afsar Zazai b Zahir Khan 44 54 4 0 81.48
46.4
Z Khan to Hasan, OUT! CAUGHT! Shakib falls first ball after the delayed rain break. Excellent start from Zahir here. Bowls a flighted delivery around off turning away from the batsman, Shakib attempts to cut but under edges it back to the keeper. The ball kept low a bit and Shakib should feel unlucky to have under edged that one. Afsar Zazai takes an excellent catch behind the stumps as it was going quickly and then throws the ball in the air in excitement. All the other Afghan players celebrate along with him. Third wicket for Zahir in this innings so far. Shakib may have lost concentration due to all the rain delays and has lost his wicket here. Afghanistan just three wickets away from a historic win here, but do they have enough time?
Mahmudullahc Ibrahim Zadran b Rashid Khan 7 21 0 0 33.33
41.6
R Khan to Mahmudullah, OUT! CAUGHT! Mahmudullah is the latest casualty to bite the dust! Rashid gets his third! On course for another 5-fer, isn't he? Rashid bowls a googly but it is not picked by Mahmudullah. He lunges to defend this flighted delivery on middle, but then the ball spins in, takes the inside edge, deflects onto the front pad and then goes towards short leg. Ibrahim Zadran takes an excellent catch going low to his left. Afghanistan four wickets away now.
Soumya Sarkarc Ibrahim Zadran b Rashid Khan 15 59 2 0 25.42

R Khan to Sarkar, OUT! AFGHANISTAN HAVE DONE IT! They have won the race against time, weather and everything that was against them. This is a massive, massive statement from the young cricketing nation. In just their 3rd Test they have come to the home of the Tigers and conquered their den. Floated delivery on middle and leg, Soumya plants his front foot forward and looks to defend.

Lovely piece of bowling from Rashid this, bowls a googly on off, which spuns a little, Mehidy attempts to defend but misses the ball. The ball goes on to hit the front pad. The Afghan players put in a huge appeal and the umpire gives it out. Mehidy looks stunned at the decision and opts for the review. The replays roll in and Ultra Edge shows that there was no bat. Ball Tracker then rolls in and it is three reds. Mehidy has to go. Afghanistan get closer to a victory.
Taijul Islamlbw b Rashid Khan 0 6 0 0 0
57.3
Khan to Islam, OUT! LBW! Rashid gets his first 10 wicket-haul in Tests. In the meantime, he joins an elite list of becoming the third captain after Allan Border and Imran Khan to pick up a 10-fer and score a fifty in the same Test match. He has been brilliant with the bat and ball here. Bowls a full delivery on middle, Islam looks to flick but misses the ball. It hits him on the pads and the Afghan players appeal. The umpire gives it out after some thought. Taijul wants the review but Soumya says that there is no review available but Taijul keeps on insisting. However, Soumya firmly tells him that there is no review left and Islam eventually has to make the long walk back to the pavilion. The replays roll in now, and Ultra Edge shows that there was an inside edge on that! How unlucky it was for Taijul? No wonder he was insisting in taking the review.
