Rohit Sharmac Peter Handscomb b Jhye Richardson 95 92 7 2 103.26
30.6
J Richardson to R Sharma, OUT! In the air... taken! Rohit Sharma departs in the nervous 90s and Australia will be relieved that they got a wicket at last. End of a mammoth 193-run stand. The short ball does the trick. It is on middle and Rohit goes for the pull. He hits it nicely but hits it flat and straight to the fielder at deep square leg, Handscomb there takes it nicely. Rohit is disappointed as he punches his bat in disgust. Nevertheless, a very good innings by him comes to an end. Deserved a ton but his partnership with Dhawan has laid the foundation for a big score here. Can India capitalize or will Australia now crawl back?
Shikhar Dhawanb Pat Cummins 143 115 18 3 124.35
37.4
Pat Cummins to S Dhawan, OUT! TIMBER! The change of angle does the trick for Cummins. Dhawan who was looking to hit everything, departs in an attempt to do so again. Pat from around the wicket angles it into the middle pole. Dhawan swings across the line but the length was not quite the one to hit. He misses and it hits the top of middle. He walks back to a standing ovation and deserves every bit of it.
Lokesh Rahulc Alex Carey b Adam Zampa 26 31 1 0 83.87
42.6
A Zampa to L Rahul, OUT! And it has got even better as Zampa strikes on the last ball. Australia continue to pick wickets at regular intervals here. The slider outside off, Rahul goes back and looks to be cheeky. He tries to guide it late through short third man but gets a feather on it to Carey. He takes it and appeals. Rahul holds his ground but the umpire raises his finger. Rahul fails to make use of the excellent batting surface here as he falls after getting a start. He is very disappointed with himself and rightly so.
Virat Kohli (C)c Alex Carey b Jhye Richardson 7 6 1 0 116.67
39.4
J Richardson to V Kohli, OUT! That has carried! Stunned silence here as Virat Kohli, the Indian skipper, does not contribute a lot. Two wickets in quick succession for Australia. That is the only way they can stem the run flow here. Jhye gets his first as he bowls it full and very wide outside off. Kohli reaches out for it but it seems to have taken the edge and goes low towards Carey who takes it and appeals. The umpire is not sure so he walks to the square leg umpire. They both have a chat and then take it upstairs. The SOFT SIGNAL IS OUT! Replays confirm that it is a legal catch.
Rishabh Pant (W)c Aaron Finch b Pat Cummins 36 24 4 1 150
45.3
Pat Cummins to R Pant, OUT! Pant is out of here and now India have half the side back in the hut! Once again it is the slower one and Pant is done in by the pace. He looks to clear mid on but it goes off the inner half and it just about carries to Finch there. They check for the no ball but Cummins is fine. End of Pant's cameo. India though would have liked for him to stay out longer.
Kedar Jadhavc Jhye Richardson b Pat Cummins 10 12 0 0 83.33
47.6
Pat Cummins to K Jadhav, OUT! In the process of getting big runs, Kedar Jadhav too holes out. Length ball on off, Jadhav shuffles across and looks to flick it off his pads. Gets connection on it but finds Jhye Richardson at deep square leg. India are losing wickets in clusters now. Good comeback from the Aussies.
Vijay Shankarc Glenn Maxwell b Pat Cummins 26 15 1 2 173.33
49.3
Pat Cummins to V Shankar, OUT! Another one bites the dust. Shankar is the man to depart but has played a handy cameo. Gives room to his length ball and looks to loft another one. Ends up dragging it towards mid-wicket where Maxwell settles under it and makes no mistake.
Bhuvneshwar Kumarc Alex Carey b Jhye Richardson 1 2 0 0 50
48.6
J Richardson to B Kumar, OUT! A very good catch that! However, the idea was right from Kumar but it did not come off. He expected the short ball from Richardson and was already on the back foot. He gets it and then tries to upper cut but hits it too close to the keeper. Carey stretches his right hand upwards and the ball sticks. Jhye ends with a wicket but he has been very expensive today. Gives away 13 in the penultimate over and his figures read 9-0-85-3.
Kuldeep Yadavnot out 1 1 0 0 100
Yuzvendra Chahalc & b Pat Cummins 0 1 0 0 0
49.5
Pat Cummins to Y Chahal, OUT! Five wickets for Pat Cummins. What an effort. Length ball over the stumps, Chahal stays inside and looks to block it with a straight bat. The ball lobs to Cummins who dives low and takes the catch. The umpire takes it up but the catch was clean as a whistle. Chahal walks back for nought.

Aaron Finch (C)b Bhuvneshwar Kumar 0 2 0 0 0

B Kumar to A Finch, OUT! Timber! Finch's struggle against Bhuvneshwar continues. Inswinging full ball pitching on middle, Finch looks to play it across the line but it goes straight between his bat and pad. It hits the leg pole and Finch walks back for a duck. India strike early. Not the kind of start Australia would have wanted. For the fourth time Bhuvneshwar gets the better of Finch. He struggled in the ODIs in Australia and got out to him thrice. Kumar's first match in this series and he takes Finch out in the very first over. Just when it looked like the Aussie skipper had got back in form, he fails to add to it this time.
Usman Khawajac Kuldeep Yadav b Jasprit Bumrah 91 99 7 0 91.92
33.1
J Bumrah to U Khawaja, OUT! In the air... taken! There is the breakthrough Kohli wanted, there is the breakthrough the crowd here wanted and there is the breakthrough India wanted. Bumrah has provided it. How often has this guy stepped up to the plate when his team needed him? Bumrah is just too good. The short ball does the trick for him. It skids off the surface. Khawaja goes for the pull but does not get on top of the bounce. It takes the top edge and lobs towards fine leg. Kuldeep there runs in and takes a tumbling catch. Khawaja walks back 9 short of a ton but his partnership with Handscomb has brought the Aussies back into the game. 155 more needed.
Shaun Marshb Jasprit Bumrah 6 10 1 0 60
3.3
J Bumrah to S Marsh, OUT! Bumrah cleans him up! Comes in from over the wickets and serves an inswinging yorker at 142 kph on off. Marsh looks to drive it through covers. The ball goes right between the gates of bat and pad and hits the off stump. Bumrah is up in celebration and so is the crowd here in Mohali. Australia in deep trouble here. Their best ODI batsman in recent times is back in the hut. They now need a solid stand to get back in the game.
Peter Handscombc Lokesh Rahul b Yuzvendra Chahal 117 105 8 3 111.43
41.1
Y Chahal to P Handscomb, OUT! Chahal strikes on his very first ball of his new spell. The centurion departs and now 359 looks farfetched. Clever bowling here. Chahal sees Handscomb coming down the track so bowls it wide outside off. Peter aims for the shorter boundary which is the straight boundaries. He though gets it off the toe-end. It lobs towards long off where Rahul runs in and takes it. A brilliant innings by Handscomb comes to an end, he has given his side hope here. 88 more needed in 53 with 5 wickets in hand.
Glenn Maxwelllbw b Kuldeep Yadav 23 13 2 1 176.92
36.1
K Yadav to G Maxwell, OUT! Looked out and it is out! Three reds and the Big Show's innings has come to an end. He takes the review along with him. The bowling change has worked wonders and the Indians are pumped up. He brings out the reverse sweep. These shots are wonderful when they come off but not a good sight when they don't. It does not work for Maxwell as he misses. It hits him on the front pad. An appeal follows and the umpire raises the finger. Maxwell reviews. Replays show that the on-field call is the right one. His cameo comes to an end and India are right on top now.

Alex Carey (W)c Shikhar Dhawan b Jasprit Bumrah 21 15 2 0 140
47.4
J Bumrah to A Carey, OUT! Carey falls! Won't make a difference though. Length ball on the leg side. Carey checks his shot and the ball lobs up towards Dhawan at mid-wicket who takes a dolly. A match-winning partnership comes to an end.
