Murali Vijayc Ben Stokes b James Anderson 20 21 4 0 95.24
4.6
J Anderson to Vijay, OUT! Well done, Anderson! Bowls it short and on an angle on the body. Vijay looks to fend at first taking the bottom hand off the bat. The ball goes off the gloves towards Stokes at third slip who takes an easy catch. Anderson is pumped up and why not. That is not a good start for India. They won the toss but are in pressure early.
Lokesh Rahulc Ben Stokes b Stuart Broad 0 5 0 0 0
1.5
S Broad to L Rahul, OUT! KL RAHUL DEPARTS! Broad gets the length right, bowls it outside off, on a length, Rahul plays at it after leaving similar ones before. The ball gets the outside edge which carries through to third slip where Stokes takes the catch to his left. The third umpire checks for the no ball but replays show Broad was fine there. Not a good start for India and not a good welcome for Rahul too.
Cheteshwar Pujarac Jonny Bairstow b James Anderson 119 204 12 2 58.33
66.4
J Anderson to Pujara, OUT! Poor shot! Sprays it wide outside off, Pujara again goes for the slash through third man. He only manages to edge it through to the keeper for a catch to his right. Anderson is all pumped up and why not. A wicket at last and a mammoth 226-run stand comes to an end. Pujara won't be happy though, he normally converts this tons into big ones but has not done so for the second time in a row.
Virat Kohli (C)c Ben Stokes b Moeen Ali 167 267 18 0 62.55
100.3
M Ali to Kohli, OUT! What a superb reflex catch! Bowls it outside off, Kohli looks to drive it through covers but is not to the pitch of the ball and gets an edge that flies quickly towards Ben Stokes at first slip going to his right. That was well held by Stokes. End of a superb innings from Kohli and he walks back disappointed. Moeen won't mind it at all, he got a bigger scalp thanks to the drop. Stokes threw the ball in disgust. Was not happy for the dropping a simpler chance on the previous ball.
Ajinkya Rahanec Jonny Bairstow b James Anderson 23 61 2 0 37.7
88.3
J Anderson to Rahane, OUT! And the new ball has done the trick. You have to wonder why is he even thinking about playing at that, let alone actually doing it. It's well outside off and on a fuller length, Rahane looks to have a feel for it from inside the line and ends up nicking it. It flies behind and it's a simple take for Jonny Bairstow behind the stumps. With not much time left in the day, England have gotten an important breakthrough.
Ravichandran Ashwinc Jonny Bairstow b Ben Stokes 58 95 6 0 61.05
123.5
Ben Stokes to Ashwin, OUT! ASHWIN DEPARTS! Outside off, on a length, Ashwin throws his bat at it from his body and gets an outside edge. Ashwin looks back to see it carried, it had. The keeper did not even appeal, Stokes raises his hand and watches the umpire give it out. But job done by Ashwin.
Wriddhiman Saha (W)lbw b Moeen Ali 3 16 0 0 18.75
104.2
M Ali to Saha, OUT! Saha has to go! Flighted ball outside off, turns in sharply after landing, Saha goes onto his back foot to play but misses and gets hit on the pads. There is a big appeal for a leg before but umpire Dharmasena is unmoved. England stop appealing and start chasing the ball, the batsmen look for a run too but suddenly Dharmasena now raises his finger after taking a long look. Saha can't believe it and he takes a review. Replays show it would have hit the stumps so he has to go. Moeen Ali gets another wicket.
Ravindra Jadejalbw b Moeen Ali 0 2 0 0 0
104.4
Ali to Jadeja, OUT! Moeen Ali on a roll here! Nicely tossed up around middle, Jadeja plays for the turn, tries to defend but misses the line. He gets hit on the pads and there's a confident appeal for a leg before yet again. Dharmasena raises his finger rather quickly this time and Moeen gets his third scalp in no time. Jadeja has a chat with Ashwin and decides not to take a review. Well, replays show the ball would have missed the leg stump and Jadeja would have survived, had he taken a review.
Jayant Yadavc James Anderson b Adil Rashid 35 84 3 0 41.67
127.6
Rashid to J Yadav, OUT! RASHID STRIKES! Floated outside off, Jayant goes for the slog sweep but gets a top edge. He himself screams in disgust. The leading edge goes towards point where Anderson takes the catch. End of a fine knock from Jayant.
Umesh Yadavc Moeen Ali b Adil Rashid 13 21 3 0 61.9
129.4
A Rashid to Yadav, OUT! Umesh holes out! Floated outside off, Umesh looks to go for another big one but this one's against the turn. He finds Moeen Ali at deep mid-wicket. End of an entertaining cameo from Umesh. INDIA BOWLED OUT FOR 455!

Alastair Cook (C)b Mohammed Shami 2 11 0 0 18.18
2.3
Shami to A Cook, OUT! BOWLED 'EM! This is a peach! Good length ball on middle and off, nice movement there, Cook tries to defend it off his back foot but misses it completely. The ball goes through his defense and rattles the timber. It has in fact broken the stump. Crazy stuff! The ball hit the top of off stump and that part is broken. Cook looked clueless there. Reminds me of a delivery which Ryan Harris bowled to him during the 2013-14 Ashes series.
Haseeb Hameedrun out (Jayant Yadav) 13 50 0 0 26
20.6
R Jadeja to J Root, OUT! RUN OUT! Flatter on middle, Root clips it through mid-wicket and runs the first one hard. Jayant Yadav chases it well and stops the ball and fires the throw at the striker's end in one motion. Root wants the second but spots it is not on and sends Hameed back late. The keeper collects the ball and despite not being in balance he manages to deflect it onto the stumps. That is brilliant work and Hameed is caught short of the crease. Third umpire referred and replays confirm he fails to make it back. Hameed will be disappointed big time. To get run out on this wicket, is criminal. It is on any wicket but this could just trigger a collapse.
Joe Rootc Umesh Yadav b Ravichandran Ashwin 53 98 6 0 54.08
31.5
R Ashwin to Root, OUT! The move to go over the wicket works! Floated outside off, Root thinks it as a chance to score, he slinks down the wicket to hit it over covers. He is too close to the ball and ends up lofting it towards Umesh Yadav at deep mid off who runs to his left and takes the catch happily. Ashwin gets the big wicket and he is all excited. England still trail by 376 runs!
Ben Duckettb Ravichandran Ashwin 5 19 0 0 26.32
27.3
R Ashwin to Duckett, OUT! TIMBER! Floated on middle, Duckett plants his front leg away from the stumps and plays down the wrong line and is beaten all ends up. The ball goes past his outside edge and cannons into the off stump. Ashwin is all pumped up and why not. Another failure for Ben and given how he has played spin so far, could have more failures lined up unless he works on his off side game. It was also how he got out in the first innings at Rajkot, just that he was out caught at first slip.
Moeen Alilbw b Jayant Yadav 1 21 0 0 4.76
34.2
J Yadav to Ali, OUT! That's hitting! Flighted on middle, Moeen comes forward to defend but gets hit on the pads. There is an appeal for a leg before but the umpire says no. India decide to take a review as they look confident. Yadav convinces his skipper and Kohli takes a quick review. Replays show it's pad first. The ball tracking technology shows the impact is in line and the ball would have hit the leg stump so that's out. Decision overturned! Jayant Yadav picks up his maiden Test wicket.
Ben Stokeslbw b Ravichandran Ashwin 70 157 11 0 44.59
90.4
Ashwin to Stokes, OUT! Drama as Stokes' review goes in vain! Floated on middle and off, Stokes comes forward to defend but is hit on his pads. The silly point collects the ball and joins the appeal. There is a loud noise for an lbw and Kumar Dharamasena upholds the appeal. Stokes comes down and has a word with Rashid and goes for the review. Replays are not conclusive enough to show that there was inside edge as Stokes had played that with his bat and pad together. It stays with the on-field call of out for an lbw. Three reds and that means Stokes has to go after a superb knock. Cook has a grim look on his face. Stokes slams his bat down as he reaches the dressing room. Even if they went with the inside edge, the catch was completed so he would have been given out caught as well. Nevertheless, a valiant knock by him. England still trail by 230 runs.
Jonny Bairstow (W)b Umesh Yadav 53 152 5 0 34.87
78.3
Yadav to J Bairstow, OUT! Umesh Yadav provides the much-needed breakthrough! Anil Kumble in the dressing room is applauding, looks a happy man. It's full and angling into the batsman at 142 kph, Bairstow looks to clip it across the line but misses as the ball brushes the pads and deflects on to the stumps. Yadav jumps and then punches the air in joy. A vital 110-run stand has been broken and England still need 66 to avoid the follow-on.
Adil Rashidnot out 32 73 6 0 43.84
Zafar Ansarilbw b Ravindra Jadeja 4 9 1 0 44.44
95.1
R Jadeja to Ansari, OUT! ANSARI FALLS! Floated on off, Ansari plays all over it and is rapped in front of the stumps. Jadeja appeals and the umpire has no doubts over it. Ansari comes down to have a chat and suggests there were possibly an edge and goes for the review. Replays confirm there was no bat there and he was hit on his front pad first. Ball Tracker shows three reds and Ansari has to go. Wonder why would you review that. The two noises were the ball hitting both the pads. England have lost both their reviews. Jadeja has his first wicket!
Stuart Broadlbw b Ravichandran Ashwin 13 26 1 0 50
102.4
R Ashwin to Broad, OUT! Ashwin has another! No reviews left which means Stuart Broad will have to walk back to the pavilion. Ash bowls a slider around middle and leg, skidding in with the angle. Broad gets back to flick but misses and is hit on the pads. A loud appeal follows and umpire Dharmasena gives it out. Replays show it would have gone on to miss the stumps. England still need 1 run to avoid the follow-on and trail by 200 runs!
James Andersonlbw b Ravichandran Ashwin 0 1 0 0 0
102.5
Ashwin to Anderson, OUT! Anderson gone first ball, England fail to avoid the follow-on, trail be a massive 200 runs but of all RAVICHANDRAN ASHWIN GETS HIS 22ND TEST 5-FER! What a performance from the offie, yet again. Bowls a loopy delivery around middle, gets it to drift through the surface as Anderson gets back to punch it through the off side but misses and is rapped on the pads right in front of the stumps. Ashwin appeals and sees the finger going up. ENGLAND BOWLED OUT FOR 255!

S Broad to M Vijay, OUT! Good review by England! Bowls it outside off, comes in with the angle, Vijay looks to defend from his crease but gets an inside edge onto his pads as he is beaten by the inward movement. The ball lobs up towards Joe Root at gully who dives forward to take the catch. Broad celebrates but cannot believe it is not given out. England go for the review. Replays confirm the edge and the catch is clean as well. Vijay has to go. Twin failures for him. India lead by 216 runs!
Lokesh Rahulc Jonny Bairstow b Stuart Broad 10 31 2 0 32.26
10.1
S Broad to Rahul, OUT! BROAD STRIKES AGAIN! Bowls it outside off, KL Rahul comes forward to defend but is beaten all ends up as the ball goes past the outside edge. The keeper and the skipper put their hands up but are not sure. Broad is not sure as well but then contemplates a review. Hameed from short leg signals to Cook that there was a faint edge. Stokes comes in from covers and also gives his approval. They go for the review. The replays confirm there was an edge there and another decision has to be overturned. Broad strikes twice and both the openers are back in the hut.
Cheteshwar Pujarab James Anderson 1 24 0 0 4.17
16.5
Anderson to C Pujara, OUT! TIMBER! Anderson bowls it outside off on a length, gets it to nip in after pitching, Pujara plays down the wrong line and is beaten. There is a huge gap between the bat and pad and the ball sneaks through it to hit the top of middle stump. Anderson has made an impact and Pujara has to go back. India lead by 240 runs.
Virat Kohli (C)c Ben Stokes b Adil Rashid 81 109 8 0 74.31
47.1
A Rashid to V Kohli, OUT! How did Stokes catch that? Bowls it slower through the air outside off, spinning away. Kohli lunges forward and flashes at it hard but only manages to get a thick outside edge. It flies to the right of Stokes at first slip and he dives athletically to grab a stunner. It is a terrific reflex catch and the crowd goes silent! A superb knock from the skipper comes to an end and he misses out on a ton. India lead by 351 runs.
Ajinkya Rahanec Alastair Cook b Stuart Broad 26 65 2 0 40

S Broad to Rahane, OUT! Edged and gone! It's a length ball outside off, a leg-cutter, Rahane pokes at it and gets a thick outside edge. S Broad to Ashwin, OUT! Broad picks up another wicket and this time no review by Ashwin! Fuller length ball outside off, angled in, Ashwin tries to defend but gets a faint edge to the keeper behind. The umpire raises his finger and Ashwin starts walking back. Broad picks up his fourth wicket, he has bowled really well here and he's not even hundred percent fit.
Wriddhiman Saha (W)lbw b Adil Rashid 2 4 0 0 50
43.1
Rashid to Saha, OUT! Umpire's call! It's a googly around off, Saha lunges forward to defend but misses the variation and gets hit on the pads. The umpire takes his time and raises his finger as England appeal for a leg before. Saha waits for a while and decides to take a review. Replays show the ball would have clipped the leg stump so that is umpire's call which is out. India are six down, lead by 330 runs.
Ravindra Jadejac Moeen Ali b Adil Rashid 14 24 0 1 58.33
51.5
A Rashid to Jadeja, OUT! Jadeja departs in the hunt for quick runs! Tossed up on the stumps, Jadeja kneels and goes for the slog sweep. Doesn't time it that well and hits it right down the throat of Moeen Ali at deep mid-wicket who gets underneath it and takes a simple catch. Rashid gets his third and he has bowled pretty well.

A Rashid to Yadav, OUT! Rashid gets his fourth! Getting rewards for his probing lines and lengths! The ball spins and bounces away sharply to extract a faint edge towards the keeper, the ball hits Bairtsow's body first but he does well to grab it in the end. Superb work. India lead by 362!

M Ali to Shami, OUT! The bowling change does the trick and Moeen strikes first ball! Bowls it flatter outside off, Shami comes forward and pushes at it but is beaten by the ball skidding through. Bairstow takes the bails off in a jiffy and makes a confident appeal. The umpire goes upstairs for the stumping appeal. The replays roll in and it looks like Shami's back foot is just planted on the crease. There is nothing in and the TV umpire is satisfied with the replays and rules it out. R Jadeja to Cook, OUT! This could well be the game defining moment! Bowls it slower through the air around off, spins back in. Cook plants his front foot across and gets into a bit of a tangle. He looks to clip it but misses and is rapped low on the pads. There is a loud, loud shout for LBW and the umpire rules it out after giving it a good thought. Cook reviews it straightaway. The replays do not spot any inside edge. Time for the Hawk Eye now. There are three reds and Cook is a dead duck. The on-field call stays and the Indians are celebrating. The crowd goes up in a loud cheer! A firm and resolute knock from Cook comes to an end and this could well open the flood gates. THAT WILL BE STUMPS ON DAY 4!

He fires it on a fuller length and angles it in on middle and leg, Root looks to flick it across the line but misses and is rapped low on the pads. Roaring appeals go up from the entire Indian team and the umpire raises his finger. The England No.3 knew he was gone but Jonny Bairstow told him to take the review, since it's worth taking it.
