He was looking so good out in the middle but does not last long. The ploy to stick with Lakmal works for Sri Lanka.

de Silva to du Plessis, OUT! Now, Du Plessis departs! He wanted to race away to his hundred but mistimed his shot on this occasion. Dhananjaya does well here to give some flight in spite of the batsman looking to attack him. He slows this one in the air and gets it to dip in around off, du Plessis shimmies down the track with the intention to clear mid-wicket but swings his bat a bit early. It flies straight down the ground off the bottom half of his bat and two players converge in the deep, one from long on, another from long off. No calling there but Suranga Lakmal from long off keeps his eyes on the ball and takes the catch and also avoids the collision. The South African skipper misses out on his ton by 12 runs.

N Pradeep to van der Dussen, OUT! Brilliant catch! Dhananjaya de Silva has taken a wonderful catch here. Pradeep bends his back and bangs one in short. We have seen very few of those in this innings. Van der Dussen plays an instinctive pull shot but does not get the timing on it. The ball goes towards deep square leg. For a moment it looked like it will fall short but de Silva comes running in from the deep and takes a great catch diving forward. A fine knock is cut short.

I Udana to D Miller, OUT! Very good catch from the Sri Lankan skipper. Back of a length ball on off, Miller comes down the track and pulls it hard but close to the man at mid-wicket. Skipper, Dimuth Karunaratne dives to his left and takes a very good catch. He is absolutely delighted and his teammates are mobbing him. Miller's poor form continues...

S Lakmal to JP Duminy, OUT! Strangled down the leg side. Lakmal speeds in from 'round the wicket and angles in a short ball down the leg side. Duminy tries his best to pull but it takes his gloves and settles into the gloves of Kusal Mendis. The appeal goes up just for the formality and the umpire raises his finger immediately. JP's scratchy knock comes to an end.

N Pradeep to A Phehlukwayo, OUT! The short ball does the trick once again. Pradeep bangs it in around off, Phehlukwayo looks to pull it but gets a top edge which goes towards deep backward point. Jeffery Vandersay runs from sweeper cover and takes a fine catch. On his way back, Andile is seen shadow practicing the ramp shot, probably should have played that. Anyway, a decent knock from the all-rounder.

L Ngidi to K Perera, OUT! South Africa get the breakthrough on the second ball of the chase and it's a big one too. Once again it is on a length. Ngidi hits the length hard and bowls it outside off. Perera this time connects with his punch but it goes straight to David Miller at cover-point. He makes no mistake and Sri Lanka lose their first without a single run on the board.

K Rabada to D Karunaratne, OUT! Dimuth Karunaratne holes out on the devil's number! Rabada steams in from 'round the wicket and digs in a short ball on middle. Dimuth wheels a pull shot but fails to connect properly. It flies straight down to Aiden Markram at deep backward square leg who hardly moves to complete the catch. The partnership is closed two short of a hundred. 169 needed off 123 balls.

L Ngidi to L Thirimanne, OUT! Run the replays of the last wicket, it's almost identical, caught David Miller at cover-point. The length is different though, it's slightly fuller in length outside off, Thirimanne leans into the drive but fails to keep it down. Another easy catch for David inside the ring. Second wicket for Ngidi and this is a terrific start for South Africa.

A Phehlukwayo to K Mendis, OUT! Trapped in front! Kusal Mendis' delightful innings comes to a stop. Phehlukwayo removes him with a straightforward delivery. He angles it on a length and in the line of the sticks at 129 kph. Mendis tries to work it across the line by shuffling a bit but fails to put bat on ball. He gets rapped on the pads, the appeal goes up and the finger follows. Hitting middle and leg, the replays confirm later. The 62-run stand is broken with Sri Lanka needing 267 off 221 balls.

JP Duminy to A Mathews, OUT! This is a brilliant running catch from Chris Morris, not easy when you are sprinting back! A loopy full ball around off, Angelo tries to heave it across the line by jumping down the track but gets a big top edge over extra cover. Morris does well to keep his eyes on the ball and catches it safely. The reaction on his face tells you everything, not easy to take those.

A Phehlukwayo to de Silva, OUT! Sound of timber! Phehlukwayo delivers a good length ball in the line of off stump and gets it to skid through the surface, Dhananjaya tries playing the cross-batted shot but misses the ball completely. The ball doesn't miss the off pole though. Half the side is back in the pavilion now with the score reading 199/5, 140 more needed off 88 balls!

A Phehlukwayo to J Mendis, OUT! Caught behind! The slower one foxes Jeevan. Phehlukwayo continues to deliver with the ball. A clever change in pace from him as he serves it full and wide outside off. Mendis winds up for a big heave-ho over the leg side but gets a faint outside edge behind to Miller. 119 needed off 73 balls with four wickets left, time running out for Sri Lanka.

A Phehlukwayo to M Siriwardana, OUT! Fourth wicket for Phehlukwayo. Shorter one, well-directed, Siriwardana pulls but without much power and timing. It flies in front of square leg and Aiden Markram takes the simplest of catches in the deep.

D Pretorius to J Vandersay, OUT! Fantastic catch by Duminy. Pretorius offers room outside off and Vandersay rocks back to pack a punch. He fails to keep it down and it goes low towards backward point. JP Duminy stationed there snaps it inches above the ground, great reaction catch from the veteran.

I Tahir to S Lakmal, OUT! That looked out and it is out. A great googly by Tahir to fool the batsman. He lands it around off and Lakmal is caught on the back foot trying to deal with it.
