Alex Carey (W)c Rohit Sharma b Kuldeep Yadav 24 31 5 0 77.42
9.5
K Yadav to A Carey, OUT! Kuldeep gives India the breakthrough like he has done on so many occasions and Australia have lost their 2nd wicket. Alex Carey who was looking really good out in the middle, is the man dismissed. Kuldeep pitches this one on the off stump and slightly fuller than the previous delivery. The ball spins away from Carey and he tries to cut once again. However, this is a top spinner which induces extra bounce. Also Alex is too close to the ball to cut and hence gets a thick outside edge. All the factors mentioned above describe the beauty of the ball. Now, about the catch. The thick edge flies at the rate of knotts and Rohit Sharma at first slip barely has time to react. However, he displays wonderful reflexes as he stays still, allows the ball to come and then pouches it swiftly to take a terrific catch. Carey is another batsman to fall into Kuldeep's spinning web. What a revelation this young Chinaman has been for India.
Aaron Finch (C)b Bhuvneshwar Kumar 6 11 0 0 54.55
2.2
B Kumar to A Finch, OUT! Bowled! Gone right through! Test match, T20I or ODI - Aaron Finch continues to be a walking wicket. He departs cheaply again and Bhuvi roars to get his 100TH ODI SCALP. What a beauty by Bhuvneshwar! He beautifully deceives the Aussie skipper. The previous ball moved away from him but this time Kumar swings it back in, leaving Finch completely bamboozled. The ball was a bit fuller and pitched outside off. Aaron tries to defend it but the ball goes straight through the gap between the bat and pad. It's a huge wicket and the dangerous Finch is back in the hut. He has had a very bad summer so far.
Usman Khawajalbw b Ravindra Jadeja 59 81 6 0 72.84
28.2
R Jadeja to U Khawaja, OUT! Umpire's call it is! Jadeja has provided just what Kohli and India wanted. He has broken through the 92-run stand. Khawaja's hard-working innings comes to an end. He will be disappointed he could not carry on. He tries to go for the slog sweep but misses. He was not in the position to play that shot as his head was falling over and he had taken his eyes off the ball. Hence, it hits his front pad. An appeal follows and the umpire raises the finger. Khawaja walks upto Marsh and then decides to review. Time for the replays and it shows the ball to be clipping the leg pole. Khawaja has to continue his long walk back. Australia though do not lose their review. India will now look to pull things back under their control.
Shaun Marshc Mohammed Shami b Kuldeep Yadav 54 70 4 0 77.14
37.3
K Yadav to S Marsh, OUT! Yes, Kuldeep can get the breakthrough and it's the set Shaun Marsh walking back to the pavilion. The chinaman flights this one up, tempting Marsh to have a go at it. The southpaw gets tempted by it and comes down the track and tries to heave it over long on. However, the bat shakes in his hand and he doesn't time it well. The ball barely carries to Rohit Sharma who is stationed at the ropes, but he runs in hard, dives and takes another good catch. A timely wicket for India, as this partnership was going at a good rate.
Peter Handscombc Shikhar Dhawan b Bhuvneshwar Kumar 73 61 6 2 119.67
47.2
B Kumar to P Handscomb, OUT! Caught! No misjudgement this time. End of a wonderful knock from Handscomb. Has given Australia something to bowl at. A short ball outside off, Peter jumps out, tries to slap it over the off side but cannot quite connect it well. Gets more height than distance and Shikhar Dhawan pockets a dolly at the extra cover boundary. 73 from 61 for the Victorian.

Rohit Sharmac Glenn Maxwell b Marcus Stoinis 133 129 10 6 103.1
45.4
M Stoinis to R Sharma, OUT! Caught! The SCG stands still. That is probably the final nail in the coffin. A tired Rohit Sharma walks back after a magnificent innings. No miracle tonight. He fought a lone battle but the situation demanded a lot out of him. Australia on the other hand, rejoice as they know they almost have the game in the bag. A short ball outside off, Rohit tries to pull but only manages to get a top edge. It goes high up in the air towards deep mid-wicket. Glenn Maxwell there runs in and takes a good catch.
Shikhar Dhawanlbw b Jason Behrendorff 0 1 0 0 0
0.6
J Behrendorff to S Dhawan, OUT! This is plumb in front! Jason Behrendorff gets his MAIDEN ODI WICKET in the first over itself. Top delivery. He spears it full and around middle, Dhawan plants his front foot way too across and tries to flick but misses. The ball hits his pads, an appeal goes up and the umpire raises his finger. Dhawan walks upto his partner but then does not review. He starts walking back, a golden duck for him. Ideal start for Australia, early wickets is what they needed and they have got one. End of a brilliant first over for JB, he will now have his tail up.
Virat Kohli (C)c Marcus Stoinis b Jhye Richardson 3 8 0 0 37.5
3.3
J Richardson to V Kohli, OUT! GONE! Look at the way the Aussies are celebrating, that will tell you how big a wicket this is. The chase master, Virat Kohli is out of here. He can't believe it though. He has hit that right off the middle but straight to the fielder at square leg who is positioned a little shorter than a normal square leg. Credit to the captaincy there. Not the best of deliveries that by Jhye, it is on his pads, Kohli loves it there. He flicks it nicely but straight to the man at square leg. Stoinis there takes it on the second attempt. India in huge trouble here, their talisman walks back without troubling the scorers a lot.
Ambati Rayudulbw b Jhye Richardson 0 2 0 0 0
3.5
J Richardson to A Rayudu, OUT! Three reds and India lose their third. Rayudu is the man taking the long walk back, not only does he take a review with him but probably the hopes of India chasing this total down too. Jhye Richardson is on fire here. His second in the space of three balls. Unlike Kohli's dismissal, this is a top nut. It pitches around middle and off and comes back in. Rayudu tries to defend but is done in by the movement. It hits the front pad. A huge appeal then follows, the umpire gives it a thought and then raises his finger. After a chat with Rohit, Rayudu reviews. Replays show the on-field call is the right one. Second Indian batsman to bag a duck today. Both the teams have now lost their review.
MS Dhoni (W)lbw b Jason Behrendorff 51 96 3 1 53.13
32.2
J Behrendorff to MS Dhoni, OUT! LBW! Jason Behrendorff has provided the needful. What a debut he is having. He has stepped up when his captain requires him to. Spears it very full around leg stump. Dhoni is right across as he tries to flick. Misses, the ball hits the pads. The umpire has his finger raised as soon as the bowler starts appealing. Jason is pumped up and Dhoni departs shortly after getting to his half ton. The 137-run stand has been cut short. Australia back on top now. 148 more needed in 106 balls with 6 wickets in hand. Now then... Hawk Eye shows the ball to be pitching outside leg. India though do not have a review left. Dhoni can consider himself unlucky.
Dinesh Karthikb Jhye Richardson 12 21 0 0 57.14
39.2
J Richardson to D Karthik, OUT! DRAGS IT ON! Jhye Richardson it is once again, his third wicket. It is slightly short and it skids through. Karthik comes down the track and he looks to pull. He though ends up getting a bottom edge as the ball does not bounce as much as he expects it to. The ball deflects onto the stumps. Rohit is disappointed at the other end, Karthik too walks back disgusted. However, he is asked to wait as the umpires want to check for the no ball. Replays show that Jhye's front foot is fine. Karthik has to continue walking. India have half their side back in the hut, also, Australia are into the all-rounders. Now one can say, Rohit is India's only hope.
Ravindra Jadejac Shaun Marsh b Jhye Richardson 8 13 0 0 61.54
44.1
J Richardson to R Jadeja, OUT! In the air... taken! Four-fer for Jhye. The men from Perth Scorchers are doing it for Australia. It is bowled short and outside off, Jadeja goes for the upper cut and also hits it well. It though does not go as fine as he wanted it to. Shaun Marsh at deep point, settles under it and takes an easy one. Rohit continues losing partners at one end. 76 from 35.

Kuldeep Yadavc Usman Khawaja b Peter Siddle 3 6 0 0 50
48.6
P Siddle to K Yadav, OUT! Khawaja makes no mistake this time! Siddle gets his first! A short ball on middle, Kuldeep shuffles across and goes for the pull. Only manages to get a top edge, it goes towards Khawaja at deep square leg, he takes it.
Mohammed Shamic Glenn Maxwell b Marcus Stoinis 1 2 0 0 50
49.6
M Stoinis to M Shami, OUT! Caught. The match ends. Stoinis finally gets his second. A full ball on middle, it is the slower one. Shami hits it high up in the air. So high that it comes down with snow on it. Maxwell in the deep mid-wicket position settles under it and takes a good catch. All smiles in the Australian camp as THEY WIN BY 34 RUNS AND TAKE A 1-0 LEAD!
