Martin Guptillb Mohammed Shami 5 9 1 0 55.56
1.5
M Shami to M Guptill, OUT! Shami strikes! Becomes the fastest to 100 ODI wickets for India. Sets up Guptill perfectly. Inswing, outswing and now another ball moving away. On a good length around off. Moves away a tad. Martin looks to play it on the off side but gets a faint edge and onto the stumps. The lights flash and India are up in celebration. Martin Guptill is a huge wicket. Shami goes past Irfan Pathan to become the fastest Indian to 100 ODI wickets, who took it in 59 games. This is Shami's 56th ODI.
Colin Munrob Mohammed Shami 8 9 2 0 88.89
3.3
M Shami to C Munro, OUT! Shami you beauty! Second wicket in two overs and he is roaring. On a good length, gets the ball nipping back into the left-hander. Munro looks to drive it but is totally beaten. The ball goes on to hit the top of middle and New Zealand lose their second wicket. Excellent line and length from Shami. New Zealand's openers are back in the hut. Another dangerous batsman dismissed.
Kane Williamson (C)c Vijay Shankar b Kuldeep Yadav 64 81 7 0 79.01
33.1
K Yadav to K Williamson, OUT! Caught in the deep! Williamson is gone and with that, the chances of a 250 or even a competitive score are gone too, one would think. First wicket for Kuldeep and he has got the trump card. The break has done the trick for the Indians. Beautifully tossed up around off, Williamson takes the gamble of going after the chinaman. The idea might have been wrong at this stage with not many wickets left. And it turns out to be a bad gamble. The skipper mistimes it and Vijay Shankar takes it comfortably at long on. Fabulous knock from the captain once again, under pressure. Upto his bowlers to make a match out of this.
Ross Taylorc & b Yuzvendra Chahal 24 41 3 0 58.54
14.3
Y Chahal to R Taylor, OUT! CAUGHT AND BOWLED! Boy. Stop the press. Chahal has taken a caught and bowled dismissal. That too, with the ball dipping onto him. Beautifully flighted outside off, Taylor comes forward to push but cannot keep it down. The ball dips onto the bowler who does well to take it inches above the ground. Fabulous catch. Usually, Chahal struggles to take such stuff but not today.
Tom Latham (W)c & b Yuzvendra Chahal 11 10 1 0 110
18.5
Y Chahal to Tom Latham, OUT! Oh dear me... do not stop the press. Would rather say, do not open the press today at all. Chahal has his second and guess what, both are caught and bowled. Another stinger. Full and around middle, Latham tries to do what he attempted on the previous ball, a chip down the ground. But this time, he hits it straight back to the bowler. Chahal lunges forward and takes it inches above the turf again (reference is to the Taylor wicket). He throws the ball up in the air and Latham initially throws his head skywards in disappointment and starts to walk. But then, stops. He expresses his feelings to the umpire regarding whether the ball has carried or not. The umpires have a customary chat and then refer it upstairs with the soft signal as OUT. There is nothing in the replays which can change the decision. Latham has to go and the strong Kiwi middle order is being broken.
Henry Nichollsc Kuldeep Yadav b Kedar Jadhav 12 17 1 0 70.59
23.6
K Jadhav to H Nicholls, OUT! What a catch! Kuldeep Yadav has plucked one out from the air! Brilliant. Looped up ball on off, Nicholls looks to flick this but cannot keep this on the ground. Plays it uppishly towards mid on where Kuldeep dives to his weaker side, that is his right and sticks his arms out. The ball sticks and Nicholls has to walks back. The hosts have lost half their side and India's part-timer has a wicket.
Mitchell Santnerlbw b Mohammed Shami 14 21 1 1 66.67
29.4
M Shami to M Santner, OUT! LBW! Plumb, plumb, dead plumb. When you get across, you cannot miss. If you miss, you get dismissed. That is exactly what has happened here. Santner walks across his stumps and Shami keeps it full and straight. Mitchell looks to flick but is beaten by pace. Is hit on the pads and is plumb in front. Shami appeals, the umpire takes his time but eventually raises his finger. Santner walks across slowly to Williamson to talk regarding the review and one reckons that if he had hit it, the review would have been taken straightaway. 'Can I, can I, should I?' probably are the questions asked by Santner. 'Nope. On your way son', might have been the response. A budding stand broken. Shami has his third.
Doug Bracewellb Kuldeep Yadav 7 15 1 0 46.67
33.5
K Yadav to D Bracewell, OUT! Chopped on! Second wicket in the over and now, the Kiwis might not even see Powerplay 3. The googly outside off, short in length, Bracewell goes back to cut but does not pick the length or the line. Is too far from the ball and only gets a thick inside edge back onto the stumps.
Tim Southeenot out 9 12 0 1 75
Lockie Fergusonst MS Dhoni b Kuldeep Yadav 0 3 0 0 0
35.2
K Yadav to L Ferguson, OUT! MS Dhoni, enough said! Fligthed ball on off, spins away from Ferguson who comes ahead to push it to the off side. Gets beaten for the turn and Dhoni quickly does what he does best. Takes off the bails and then puts in an appeal. The umpire takes it up and replays show us that there is Ferguson has nothing behind the line. On the line is not good enough and Lockie has to walk. Ninth one down for the Kiwis.
Trent Boultc Rohit Sharma b Kuldeep Yadav 1 10 0 0 10
37.6
K Yadav to T Boult, OUT! Edged to first slip. The innings is done. The googly outside off, Boult pushes at it, does not pick the line and gets a thick outside edge. Simple catch for Rohit Sharma. NEW ZEALAND GET BOWLED OUT FOR 157!

D Bracewell to R Sharma, OUT! There it is, the first breakthrough and Bracewell strikes! On a length and outside off, invites Sharma to play on the up. He plays a rather loose shot and gets an outside edge to Guptill at first slip who takes it at a good height. First wicket for the Kiwis and they will hope they get another one quickly.

L Ferguson to V Kohli, OUT! Back-to-back dismissals in the 40s for Virat Kohli. He departed for 46 in the MCG ODI. Him not converting is very rare. Short ball down the leg side, Kohli looks to hook it but gets a feather off the glove to the keeper behind. The keeper appeals and Virat walks. We have seen a similar dismissal like this before. Too little too late for the Kiwis though.
