Rohit Sharma (C)c Ambati Rayudu b Shane Watson 15 18 1 1 83.33
3.5
S Watson to R Sharma, OUT! Top edge and Rohit Sharma's nervy stay at the crease comes to an end. Shane Watson lets out a huge roar as he sends the Mumbai skipper back. Good length delivery, shaping away a touch, Rohit Sharma wants to hit it over mid-wicket but the away movement takes the big top edge and goes high up in the air. Rayudu at backward point calls for it, comes a couple of steps ahead, keeps his eyes on the ball and takes it safely in the end. It almost popped out but the ex-Mumbai lad does well to hold onto it. Both the openers back in the hut inside the Powerplay.
Evin Lewislbw b Deepak Chahar 0 2 0 0 0
2.1
D Chahar to E Lewis, OUT! The big West Indian walks back for a duck! The Chennai fans find their voices in the crowd. Big, big wicket for the visitors. Deepak Chahar with a breakthrough. Fuller ball, nipping in appreciably and beating the attempted flick shot of Lewis who gets rapped on the pads and nearly falls over. In fact, even the bowler is down in his followthrough. A huge appeal from him and he gets the nod from the umpire. Lewis takes the review, the first of the season but it doesn't favor him although Mumbai don't lose a review. There is no bat involved and Hawk Eye shows it's pitching in line and would have clipped the leg stump by just. Umpire's call stays and it's a nought on debut for Lewis.
Ishan Kishan (W)c Mark Wood b Imran Tahir 40 29 4 1 137.93
14.4
I Tahir to I Kishan, OUT! Top edge and gone! Imran Tahir picks up a wicket after being taken for aplenty in his first over. Bowls a googly, it keeps going away from the southpaw. Kishan gets down on one knee and tries to swing it across the line. A big fat top edge is taken which goes high in the air towards short third man where Mark Wood takes a dolly of a catch. In the first over that Tahir bowled, he wasn't able to bowl the googly with the correct length as he ended up bowling too full. This time he drops it on a perfect length and gets the reward he was searching for. Ishan walks back after playing a good hand.
Suryakumar Yadavc Harbhajan Singh b Shane Watson 43 29 6 1 148.28
12.3
S Watson to S Yadav, OUT! Watson strikes and provides the much-needed breakthrough for his side. He is all pumped up. Chennai needed this wicket as these two were going great guns. Watto drops it short on middle, it keeps climbing on Yadav who doesn't want to hold back. Takes on the challenge of pulling it and that brings his downfall. Hits it straight down the throat of Harbhajan Singh at deep square leg who takes it easily. Oh boy, he is pumped up as well. Tosses the ball and kicks it away. The 78-run stand is broken. Can Chennai pick up a few more to stop the run flow?

Chennai

Batting R B 4s 6s SR
Shane Watsonc Evin Lewis b Hardik Pandya 16 14 1 1 114.29
3.4
H Pandya to S Watson, OUT! Shane Watson departs! Hardik Pandya draws first blood for his side. It was the knuckle ball from him. On a length and around middle and off, Watson just looks to flick it away. But he mistimes it high in the air and holes out to Evin Lewis at deep square leg. Chennai need 139 from 98 balls.
Ambati Rayudulbw b Mayank Markande 22 19 4 0 115.79
6.3
M Markande to A Rayudu, OUT! Trapped in front! Mayank Markande gets the Wankhede going. Ambati Rayudu departs. Lovely googly from the rookie, Rayudu gets down to play the sweep but misses and gets hit on the pads. A huge appeal follows and the umpire raises his dreaded finger. The batter has a word with his partner regarding the DRS but they decide against it. Good call as Hawk Eye shows it would have clipped the top of the stumps. Chennai in a bit of bother now.
Suresh Rainac Krunal Pandya b Hardik Pandya 4 6 0 0 66.67
5.6
H Pandya to S Raina, OUT! This time Raina is sent packing. Hardik Pandya with another one. Remember the saying? A lion is even more dangerous when he is injured? You can use it here for the junior Pandya. Short ball, a good one which cramps Raina for room. Suresh comes down the track and is not in any control to play the pull shot but still goes after it and pays the price. Ends up mistiming it towards mid on where Krunal Pandya takes a good catch. Like Mumbai, even Chennai lose two wickets inside the Powerplay.
Kedar Jadhavnot out 24 22 1 2 109.09
MS Dhoni (C) (W)lbw b Mayank Markande 5 5 0 0 100
8.3
M Markande to MS Dhoni, OUT! That's dead plumb! Mayank Markande is at it again as he nets the big fish. The joy on his face is something he will cherish for a really long time. He was denied a wicket on the previous over when replays showed that Kedar Jadhav was out LBW but this time he gets an even bigger wicket of the opposition skipper. His googlies are working wonders. Another one which Dhoni fails to pick and gets hit on the back pad right in front of the stumps. Huge appeal but the umpire shakes his head. Mumbai take the DRS this time and it has gone in their favour. Hawk Eye shows three reds. Chennai in huge trouble now.
Ravindra Jadejac Suryakumar Yadav b Mustafizur Rahman 12 13 1 0 92.31
11.6
M Rahman to R Jadeja, OUT! Jadeja holes out trying to hit the boundaries. Rahman rolls his fingers to this one and serves on a good length outside off. Ravindra goes for the big swing and gets a top edge to this. The ball balloons towards mid off where Suryakumar Yadav comes a few steps ahead, settles under it and takes the skier. Chennai are now losing wickets at regular intervals. They need 91 more off 48 balls.
Dwayne Bravoc Rohit Sharma b Jasprit Bumrah 68 30 3 7 226.67
18.6
J Bumrah to D Bravo, OUT! Bumrah has the last laugh! Dwayne Bravo departs after playing a brilliant, brilliant knock. The Wankhede erupts! Back of a length, slower one outside off, Bravo looks to fetch but ends up slicing it towards Rohit Sharma at extra cover who takes it at the edge of the circle. So has the game tilted back in Mumbai's favor?
Deepak Chaharst Ishan Kishan b Mayank Markande 0 1 0 0 0
12.6
M Markande to D Chahar, OUT! Markande gets his third wicket! What a debut he is having! Deepak charges down the track on his very first ball, Mayank bowls this slower through the air on off, it's the googly again. Chahar is outfoxed by it completely. It goes past his bat and Ishan Kishan takes the bails off in a flash. Chahar doesn't come back in time and an easy decision for the square leg umpire to make. Chennai need a miracle from here if they are to win. Meanwhile, the young man is done for the night. His figures read 4-0-23-3! Surely in contention to win the Man of the Match award tonight.
Harbhajan Singhc Jasprit Bumrah b Mitchell McClenaghan 8 5 1 0 160
14.5
M McClenaghan to H Singh, OUT! A nothing shot from Singh and it leads his downfall. Back of a length ball outside off, Singh makes room and looks to cut this over backward point. But he ends up slicing it off the outside edge towards Bumrah at third man who takes a very easy catch.
Mark Woodc Mustafizur Rahman b Hardik Pandya 1 3 0 0 33.33
16.3
H Pandya to M Wood, OUT! Pandya picks up another wicket, he has this happy knack of picking wickets. Slower ball on a good length around middle and leg, Wood gets into the position and whips this to the deep square leg region. He gets it off the bottom of the bat and the ball goes straight down the throat of Rahman stationed there.
