Masters Champions League (MCL) 2016 is set to kick off from January 28, 2016 to be held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) across two venues- Dubai and Sharjah. MCL is an opportunity to witness former cricketers playing against each other or alongside. The MCL consists of 6 teams- Virgo Super Kings, Leo Lions, Gemini Arabians, Sagittarius Soldiers, Capricorn Commanders and Libra Legends. The players’ auction took place on December 7, 2015 and Australian skipper Adam Gilchrist and South African all-rounder Jacques Kallis were the costliest bid.
England’s Paul Collingwood has been named the captain for Capricorn Commanders while former Indian batsman Virender Sehwag named director and captain of Gemini Arabians. MCL has roped in Oxygen Wallet as title sponsors and Sony Pictures Networks India acquire the broadcasting rights. MCL will witness other legendary cricketers like Wasim Akram, Brian Lara, Nicky Boje, Michael Vaughan, Sourav Ganguly, Kumar Sangakkara and many more.
