48.3
Tiripano to Guptill, OUT! HE'S CAUGHT HIM LEG BEFORE! "Finally", Zimbabwe fans will think. They have a wicket. First breakthrough of the day. Full and coming in sharply, Guptill prods forward to block it out. He misses and is rapped plumb right in front of the stumps on the pads. There are roaring appeals for a leg before and the umpire has no trouble raising his finger. Excellent delivery.
Tom Lathamc & b Sean Williams 136 269 11 0 50.56
89.5
Williams to Latham, OUT! That's gone! Day before, we saw Azhar Ali doing all the hard work and getting out on the last ball before Stumps and today, it's another centurion Tom Latham who will have to walk back. Loopy delivery around off, Latham lunges forward a bit and chips it back towards the bowler. Williams in his followthrough dives to his right and takes a superb reflex catch. The umpire wasn't sure and wanted some assistance from the TV umpire. First replay was enough for him to announce his decision but there occurred a technical glitch as he pressed the green button and then it was corrected. Latham drove it cleanly and it's grabbed neatly. What a knock from Thomas William Maxwell Latham! And it's STUMPS ON DAY 1!
Kane Williamson (C)c Craig Ervine b Michael Chinouya 113 151 10 0 74.83
98.1
M Chinouya to Williamson, OUT! Straight in the hands of Ervine! On a length and outside off, Williamson stays inside the crease and looks to steer it through gully. There isn't anyone in the slips and only one man was backing that region. It was Ervine who accepts the catch with divine. Williamson doesn't want to leave the crease but has to make the long way back to the dressing room. Nevertheless, a superb knock comes to an end.
Ross Taylornot out 124 173 10 0 71.68
Henry Nichollslbw b Graeme Cremer 15 24 3 0 62.5
104.5
Cremer to Nicholls, OUT! THE BOWLING CHANGE DOES THE TRICK! And it's the skipper with the breakthrough. He admitted yesterday that he was quite poor in the final session and today, he redeems himself. Tosses this up nicely on middle, it's a straighter one as the ball holds its line after pitching. Nicholls kneels down to sweep this away but misses his shot and is rapped on the front pad. Cremer and Moor roar for an lbw appeal and the umpire raises his finger. The southpaw is gone and he's failed here yet again.

Tino Mawoyob Tim Southee 26 109 5 0 23.85
35.6
Tim Southee to Mawoyo, OUT! The Kiwis got the belated wicket! Length ball outside off, it holds its line. Tino off his front foot looks to leave it but is late and the ball hits the inside half of the bat. The ball is dragged onto the stumps and Mawoyo has to go back after all that efforts. It is Southee who has provided the much-needed breakthrough.
Chamu Chibhabhac Kane Williamson b Mitchell Santner 60 170 9 0 35.29
56.2
M Santner to Chibhabha, OUT! In the air... caught! Double C you gotta go! Kane Willamson, you freaking beauty! What a catch, that! Santner gives this a bit more flight and bowls it around off. Chibhabha lunges forward to drive but ends up playing it a bit too uppishly. The birthday boy stationed at short covers dives full length to his left and gobbles it pretty well. After fighting hard Chibhabha has to make his way back. That's also Lunch on day 3!
Sikandar Razac Kane Williamson b Neil Wagner 3 30 0 0 10
45.3
N Wagner to Raza, OUT! The ploy of bowling outside off has worked! Full ball wide outside off, Raza goes for a drive on the up. The ball goes off the outside edge towards gully and the birthday boy, Williamson takes it with glee. Another wicket down.
Craig Ervinec Neil Wagner b Ish Sodhi 146 272 18 1 53.68
143.4
Ish Sodhi to Ervine, OUT! Ervine departs after a superb knock! Tosses up a googly ball on off, Ervine in the pursuit of scoring quick runs looks to loft but it is miscued. The ball goes to long off, where Wagner takes a simple catch. After all that efforts and scoring a maiden test century, gets out on 146! The hosts are bowled out on 362!
Prince Masvaureb Mitchell Santner 2 25 0 0 8
62.3
M Santner to Masvaure, OUT! Prince has dragged it on, a tame dismissal that. Santner bowls a loopy ball around off, Masvaure gets back to defend but the ball goes off the toe end of the bat, bounces down and goes back to hit the leg pole. The bails are off and Masvaure tries to shoo it away but is late to do so. He walks back with a forlorn face and Zimbabwe still trail by 467 runs.
Sean Williamslbw b Ish Sodhi 16 36 2 0 44.44
74.1
Ish Sodhi to Williams, OUT! SODHI STRIKES! Excellent tossed up leg spinner on off, Williams kneels down and looks to reverse sweep this away but misses. He is rapped on the pads and there are roaring appeals for a leg before. The umpire takes him time, contemplates long and hard and then raises his finger. The hero of Zimbabwe's first Test is now back in the pavilion.
Peter Moor (W)c Martin Guptill b Ish Sodhi 71 125 11 0 56.8
114.6
Ish Sodhi to Moor, OUT! Sodhi breaks the partnership! Moor departs! Pitched a tad shorter, Peter Moor gets back in his crease and pulls it with the spin straight in the hands of Martin Guptill at mid-wicket. That ends a brilliant 148-run stand. Finally a sigh of relief for New Zealand. That's end of a matured knock from the debutant. Peter Moor is disappointed with himself but well, he shouldn't be as he played very well.
Graeme Cremer (C)lbw b Trent Boult 8 36 1 0 22.22
126.6
Boult to Cremer, OUT! Trent gets Cremer plumb! Full ball on middle and off, it nips back in after pitching. Cremer gets stuck on the front foot as he looks to flick it away to the on side. The appeal was up straightaway and the umpire raises his dreaded finger in a jiffy. The not so long stay of Graeme is over with that perfect ball from the southpaw bowler. Zimbabwe are 7 down with that.
Donald Tiripanolbw b Neil Wagner 3 28 0 0 10.71
134.5
N Wagner to Tiripano, OUT! Wagner gets his man! Fuller ball on middle and leg, Tiripano tries to pick it away straightaway. The ball beats his shot and strikes the pad. Wagner goes for an appeal for lbw and the team is roaring for the same too. The umpire takes his time and raises his finger. Wagner gets his first wicket in this session. Donald looks unhappy as that ball was pitched outside leg. Nevertheless, he has to go.
John Nyumbuc Mitchell Santner b Ish Sodhi 8 30 0 1 26.67
141.6
Ish Sodhi to Nyumbu, OUT! Soft dismissal! Loopy ball outside off, it was spinning away but John chases it. He pulls it from wide outside the crease and it is miscued to get lobbed in the air towards the mid-wicket region. Santner catches it at ease, Sodhi gets his 3rd wicket and the hosts are 9 down.

D Tiripano to Latham, OUT! Edged and that's gone! Donald draws first blood! On a length and around off, very little movement in that probing zone. Latham feels for it and as a result goes after it with a push. Gets an outside edge and Moor behind the stumps makes no mistake.
Martin Guptillc John Nyumbu b Michael Chinouya 11 14 2 0 78.57
6.1
M Chinouya to Guptill, OUT! The fielding change has worked for the home side! Chinouya dishes out a short ball in the channel on off, Guptill gets back to punch it on the off side but the ball bounces off the deck a bit and that takes the Kiwi opener by surprise. It goes off the outer part of the bat towards gully where Nyumbu takes a sharp reflex catch. The hosts are not letting the Kiwis take a burp after lunch. Brilliant display on the field and both the openers are back in the hut!

T Boult to Mawoyo, OUT! A loud shout for lbw and it's given! Trent Boult in his typical fashion of getting down on one knee and begging for an appeal, so adorable he looks! Anyway coming to the ball, he pitches it up on middle, gets it to curl in after pitching, Mawoyo prods forward to defend but the ball skids a bit, beats his defense and goes on to hit him on the back pad. Boult turns back to appeal and the umpire raises his finger.
Chamu Chibhabhac Martin Guptill b Neil Wagner 21 43 4 0 48.84
16.5
N Wagner to C Chibhabha, OUT! Edged and gone! Double C you gotta go! Wagner draws first blood here! He angles it away from the batsman from over the wicket, Chibhabha gets a bit squared up as he gets an outside edge which flies in the safe hands of Guptill at second slip. New Zealand are delighted as they have gotten a breakthrough. Chamu walks back after doing the hard work.
Sikandar Razalbw b Tim Southee 0 17 0 0 0
25.2
Southee to Raza, OUT! Got him... yes gone! Southee thought it's dead plumb but replays show it might be going down leg as well. Be it anything, NZ are all smiles. Southee angles in a length delivery outside off, Raza looks to defend but is beaten by the inward movement and gets struck on the pads. Southee didn't even bother looking back at the umpire and starts to celebrate. Looked sliding down the leg side but umpire Paul Reiffel thinks the other way. Sikandar Raza Butt has to walk back and THAT IS ALSO STUMPS ON THE PENULTIMATE DAY!
Donald Tiripanolbw b Mitchell Santner 22 75 3 0 29.33
47.4
Santner to Tiripano, OUT! Santner gets the wicket of the nightwatchman! Darts it on middle and leg, Donald off his back foot tries to block it but is beaten by the pace there. The appeal for lbw is on straightaway and after a long pause, the umpire raises his dreaded finger. Tiripano is not happy and rightly so as the replays show that the ball was going down leg.
Craig Ervinec Bradley Watling b Martin Guptill 27 81 4 0 33.33
55.3
M Guptill to Ervine, OUT! Guptill has taken the wicket and Ervine departs! Tossed up ball outside off, Ervine strides forward and looks to push at it. The ball beats his defense and goes into the gloves of the keeper. They appeal for a caught behind and oh dear, it is given out. There was no connection with the bat but the umpire feels there was. Unlucky for Ervine but the Black Caps will take that. THAT IS LUNCH ON DAY 5!
Prince Masvaurec Ross Taylor b Ish Sodhi 11 61 1 0 18.03
68.2
Ish Sodhi to P Masvaure, OUT! PRINCE DEPARTS! Is this another wrong decision by the umpire? Absolute mayhem out there in the middle. We don't even have time to breathe! It's nicely flighted on middle, Masvaure presses forward in an attempt to defend. The ball goes off his pads and into the hands of Ross Taylor at first slip. A huge appeal goes up and the umpire raises his finger. But wait, there's some confusion. As Prince Masvaure is walking back to the pavilion, the on air commentators say that the southpaw has been given out for being caught at first slip. Very strange... replays show there was no bat involved whatsoever. He still has to walk back and that's another wicket down for Zimbabwe. New Zealand can smell victory here, you just know it.
Sean Williamsc Kane Williamson b Martin Guptill 11 17 2 0 64.71
61.1
M Guptill to S Williams, OUT! KANE WILLIAMSON, YOU BEAUTY! What a catch! Absolute blinder there from the Kiwi skipper. Guptill tosses this one outside off, gives it a lot of air as well, Williams leans into the shot and drives this really hard. Any other day the ball would have raced away to the boundary but not today. Kane Williamson at short cover, with cat-like reflexes, somehow holds on to the ball as it's hit like a bullet straight to him. Brilliant! Gets his side one step closer to victory. Top stuff.
Peter Moor (W)lbw b Ish Sodhi 1 6 0 0 16.67
62.3
Ish Sodhi to Moor, OUT! That was dead plumb! Zimbabwe slipping further now! Sodhi bowls a loopy delviery around middle, goes straight after pitching. Moor lunges forward to defend but misses and goes onto hit him on the pads right in front of the stumps. An appeal is made and the umpire raises his finger. Sodhi picks up his first wicket in this innings.
Graeme Cremer (C)lbw b Martin Guptill 1 17 0 0 5.88
67.5
Guptill to Cremer, OUT! ANOTHER DICEY DECISION! Well, Graeme Cremer will be livid on that occasion, and the look on his face shows that. Tossed up just around off, from around the wicket, it's turning in heavily as it goes off the deck. Cremer presses forward and looks to defend it. It raps his pads and there's a huge appeal for a leg before. The umpire signals it as out but Cremer is completely unhappy with that. Replays show why. There was a big inside edge before the ball hit the pads. The Rhodesian skipper is so unfortunate, has to make the long walk back.
John Nyumbunot out 0 1 0 0 0
Michael Chinouyac Kane Williamson b Ish Sodhi 0 2 0 0 0
68.4
Ish Sodhi to Chinouya, OUT! AND THAT DOES IT... NEW ZEALAND HAVE DONE IT! The celebrations start and the Kiwis are hugging it out. Smiles go all around as the Zimbabwean heads fall down. Sodhi tosses this up around off, gives it quite a lot of air and it's a googly, Chinouya plants his foot forward and looks to defend. The ball kind of stops on him and pops up off his bat, straight into the hands of Kane Williamson at short cover. He pouches it with ease and brings an end to the home side's innings. NEW ZEALAND WIN THE MATCH BY 254 RUNS AND TAKE THE SERIES 2-0!
