Niroshan Dickwella (W)c Tabraiz Shamsi b Kagiso Rabada 2 3 0 0 66.67
0.3
K Rabada to N Dickwella, OUT! GONE! Rabada does what Rabada does best - early damage! He set out to do just that and has taken the first step towards it. A bit of a soft dismissal though. Dickwella will be massively disappointed. Tries to flick the low full toss on leg through mid-wicket, but instead chips it off the toe end towards wide mid on, where Tabraiz Shamsi moves to his left and takes a good catch. Superb start for South Africa.
Upul Tharangarun out (JP Duminy) 10 17 1 0 58.82
5.1
L Ngidi to U Tharanga, OUT! Superb work from JP Duminy. Sri Lanka in some trouble here now. Tharanga pushes this just wide of mid off and takes off. Duminy at mid off moves towards extra cover, picks up the ball cleanly and scores a direct hit at the bowler's end, all in one motion, as Upul tries to slide his bat in. JP is already celebrating, he knows he's got his man. Tharanga looks a bit worried, it's taken upstairs and it's all confirmed why. The opener is well short of his crease and as a result, has to make the long walk back.
Kusal Mendisc Quinton de Kock b Kagiso Rabada 3 6 0 0 50
2.4
K Rabada to K Mendis, OUT! Rabada has his second. This is fantastic bowling from the pacer. Serves it in the zone of apprehension, lands it on a fuller length and that does Kusal Mendis in. He plays at it and the slight away movement draws the edge. Quinton de Kock behind the stumps takes a regulation catch and dismisses the Sri Lanka no.3. Poor footwork by Kusal there, very tentative.
Kusal Pererac David Miller b Tabraiz Shamsi 81 72 11 1 112.5
30.3
T Shamsi to K Perera, OUT! That's a fantastic catch from David Miller! It's the big wicket of Kusal Perera. He didn't have to play this shot, at all. Flighted on leg, the southpaw brings out the reverse sweep and chips it towards Miller at backward point who moves to his left and takes a diving catch. Kusal Perera departs, missing out on what would have been a well-deserved hundred.
Angelo Mathews (C)c Hashim Amla b Lungi Ngidi 5 8 1 0 62.5
7.2
L Ngidi to A Mathews, OUT! Sri Lanka in some serious trouble here. They have lost 4 wickets inside the first 10 itself. It's the stalwart, their skipper Mathews this time. Back of a length outside off, Mathews plays this away from his body and gets a thick edge. Straight to Hashim Amla at first slip who takes it right in front of his face. Poor from Angelo, had no footwork while playing that. You'd expect a player of his quality to do better, especially when playing away from his body.
Shehan Jayasuriyac Quinton de Kock b Kagiso Rabada 0 8 0 0 0
8.5
K Rabada to S Jayasuriya, OUT! Half the side back in the hut. Powerplay 1 hasn't even finished yet. This is dire. Rabada with some serious pace angles it across on a good length, Shehan Jayasuriya, like the ones before him, plays it away from his body with minimal footwork. A healthy edge is had and de Kock does the rest. South Africa, obviously, dominating proceedings here.
Thisara Pererac Quinton de Kock b Tabraiz Shamsi 49 30 8 0 163.33
17.4
T Shamsi to T Perera, OUT! Shamsi has the last laugh and there is pin-drop silence here in Dambulla. One would wonder why wasn't he introduced earlier. He has provided the breakthrough South Africa so desperately wanted. Excellent delivery, loopy on off, this one pitches and then turns. Thisara prods forward to defend but does not account for the turn. That proves to be his undoing as the ball takes the outside edge and goes into the mitts of the keeper. De Kock throws the ball up in the air in delight and appeals. The umpire agrees by raising his finger. End of the entertainment, end of an excellent partnership worth 92. South Africa will now look to make quick work of the remaining wickets.
Akila Dananjayab Tabraiz Shamsi 11 30 0 0 36.67
26.4
T Shamsi to A Dananjaya, OUT! Chopped it on! It is Shamsi once again who gets the wicket. He struck on the fourth ball of his initial spell and he strikes on the 4th ball of his second spell as well. Another vital wicket. It is the googly on off, Dananjaya has no clue about it as he goes back in an attempt to cut it. The ball though turns back in sharply and there is no time for Akila to adjust. It hits the bottom edge and then goes onto hit the stumps. Shamsi is pumped up and South Africa are now into the tail.
Suranga Lakmalc Quinton de Kock b Kagiso Rabada 5 16 1 0 31.25
33.2
K Rabada to S Lakmal, OUT! This time he's out of here! Rabada with another bumper, on middle and leg. It's well-directed and takes Lakmal by surprise again. He looks to awkwardly fend it away but gets it off the glove behind to de Kock who collects it with ease. While walking back, Sandakan asked Lakmal about the DRS, but he indicated to him that he clearly got it off the glove.
Lakshan Sandakannot out 5 13 0 0 38.46
Lahiru Kumarast Quinton de Kock b Tabraiz Shamsi 3 6 0 0 50
34.3
T Shamsi to L Kumara, OUT! And Shamsi finishes things off! Kumara gives the charge to this one and seeing this, Shamsi drags his length back. It's outside off, Kumara swings and misses and de Kock adds the finishing touches. SRI LANKA ARE BOWLED OUT FOR 193, WITH 15.3 OVERS REMAINING!

Hashim Amlab Akila Dananjaya 19 14 3 0 135.71
4.3
A Dananjaya to H Amla, OUT! Right through the gate! Akila tosses this one in the air, a googly and lands it around off. Amla stays back to work it around but misses the ball completely. It goes right through his defense to break the stumps. Once again Hashim displayed a very ordinary technique while playing a spinner. He was very poor in the Test series also and the same has happened once more.
Quinton de Kock (W)c Suranga Lakmal b Akila Dananjaya 47 59 4 1 79.66
20.4
A Dananjaya to de Kock, OUT! Quinton de Kock departs against the run of play! Dananjaya gets his third wicket, giving his side a sniff. He tosses this one up nicely outside off and it drifts away a touch as well. De Kock uses his feet and tries to go downtown but commits himself early into the shot. Ends up getting it off the outer half of the bat towards extra cover. Two fielders, Kusal Mendis and Suranga Lakmal converge towards the ball and it seems like there will be a collision. But they avoid it as Suranga takes the catch in the second attempt. The 86-run stand comes to an end. 77 needed from 176. Can Sri Lanka trigger a collapse now?
Aiden Markramlbw b Akila Dananjaya 0 1 0 0 0
4.4
A Dananjaya to A Markram, OUT! Trapped in front! Back-to-back wickets for Akila Dananjaya. He has infused life in this game now. Another back of the hand delivery, a googly landing full around middle, Markram tries defending it but fails to read the variation. He is rapped on the pads, they appeal and the finger goes up immediately. He was a dead duck there. No need to take the DRS. That's hitting the leg stump, shows the replay. Like Amla, Markram also struggled in the Test series against spinners and is found wanting here too.
Faf du Plessis (C)c Angelo Mathews b Lakshan Sandakan 47 56 10 0 83.93
23.1
L Sandakan to du Plessis, OUT! Faf has thrown his wicket away! Needless to say the least. Du Plessis premeditates as he shuffles across a touch and tries to paddle scoop it over the keeper. However, Sandakan is cool as a cucumber. He smartly shortens his length, bowls it at a quicker pace and lands it wide outside off. Faf has to readjust but he does the mistake of flirting with it, attempting to run it down. An outside edge is induced and Mathews at first slip takes a good catch. The match is not over yet, folks. The two set batsmen are back in the hut and just like de Kock, du Plessis also misses out on his fifty. South Africa need to be careful.
JP Duminynot out 53 32 6 2 165.63
David Millerlbw b Suranga Lakmal 10 13 1 0 76.92
27.6
S Lakmal to D Miller, OUT! Impact is umpire's call. Low full toss, tailing in from outside leg stump. Miller falls over a bit in an attempt to flick it and is beaten by the pace. He is hit flush on the front boot as the Sri Lankan players rise up in an appeal. The umpire obliges this time. Miller decides to signal for the 'T.' The replays roll in. The Snicko doesn't show any spike off the bat. The Hawk Eye now shows that the impact is umpire's call and it is hitting the stumps. The on-field call stays. A little too late for Sri Lanka though.
