Niroshan Dickwella (W)c & b Lungi Ngidi 8 7 2 0 114.29
1.4
L Ngidi to N Dickwella, OUT! That is the first one! Ngidi has picked up a wicket in his very first over on his return. He changes the angle and comes around the wicket and bowls this on a short of a good length, Dickwella is early into the shot as he tries to push the ball back down the ground. There is extra bounce and it goes off the top half of the blade and back to the bowler who gobbles an easy catch. Dickwella's stay was a very short one. Not a memorable 50th ODI for him.
Upul Tharangab Lungi Ngidi 9 11 2 0 81.82
3.4
L Ngidi to U Tharanga, OUT! Tharanga has chopped on! His comeback is not a great one but Ngidi is having a ball in his return game. Back with a bang! He has picked up his second in two overs. A length ball outside off and lots of width on that one, was there to be hit. Tharanga slashes at that ball but unfortunately for him, the ball takes the inside edge and goes back on to disturb his stumps. Early trouble here for the visitors.
Kusal Pererac Quinton de Kock b Imran Tahir 33 36 4 0 91.67
16.4
I Tahir to K Perera, OUT! Sri Lanka lose their third wicket. The dangerous Kusal Perera departs. Back of the hand googly outside off, Perera does not pick it at all. Hence, he plays at that tentatively, looking to push the ball away and gets a thick outside edge. Quinton de Kock takes a terrific catch. Before South Africa put in an appeal, Kusal starts to walk. Kusal Perera was the tormentor for South Africa in the Test series and he has been dismissed before he becomes dangerous. A nice flowing stand of 76 has been broken.
Oshada Fernandorun out (David Miller) 49 49 5 2 100
18.4
I Tahir to K Mendis, OUT! No half century on debut for Oshada Fernando. The poor chap is well short of the crease and has to go back to the pavilion. A flighted full ball on middle, a googly, Mendis flicks it off his pads to mid-wicket and Miller inside the ring moves swiftly across to his right to make a diving stop. He immediately releases the ball to the keeper as well. In the meantime, Kusal strides out in search of a run but seeing his partner ball-watching initially, he stops. But after that Oshada starts to sprint to the other end without even looking at his partner. Kusal has no other option but to respond. It's a flat throw to the keeper and de Kock breaks the stumps in no time. Oshada tries his best but has no chance of getting in. They appeal and it's referred upstairs. The replays as mentioned already finds the debutant well short of the mark. Oshada was looking so good in his knock and is really unlucky to suffer this fate. South Africa will be delighted to get a couple of quick wickets after a partnership in between.
Kusal Mendisc Rassie van der Dussen b Imran Tahir 60 73 5 1 82.19
38.6
I Tahir to K Mendis, OUT! Tahir provides the breakthrough again! Gets his third. Big wicket for South Africa. Tossed up on off, Mendis goes for the aerial drive but hits it straight to cover. Simple catch for Rassie van Dussen. A soft dismissal. Mendis has thrown it away. Yet again a partnership is followed by a couple of wickets.
Dhananjaya de Silvast Quinton de Kock b Imran Tahir 39 52 3 0 75
36.2
I Tahir to de Silva, OUT! Nothing behind the line. Dhananjaya de Silva has to walk back. Tossed up outside off, Dhananjaya come forward and looks to drive but gets beaten by the drift and turn on this one. Quinton de Kock collects the ball and whips the bails off in a flash. It is referred upstairs and the first replay shows that Dhananjaya's foot might be just inside the line. But then, the other angles suggest it to be right on the line with nothing behind. The third umpire watches multiple angles and then rules it against the batsman. Touch and go that but South Africa will be happy to have broken the 94-run stand.
Thisara Pererac David Miller b Kagiso Rabada 7 9 0 0 77.78
39.4
K Rabada to T Perera, OUT! This is poor cricket from Sri Lanka. They are just throwing away wickets. Rabada gets a wicket at last. Good length delivery outside off, Perera looks to push but gets an outside edge as there is some extra bounce. It goes towards backward point where David Miller takes the simplest of catches. The visitors are eight down. Can they bat out their 50 overs?
Akila Dananjayarun out (Rassie van der Dussen) 0 0 0 0 0
39.1
K Rabada to T Perera, OUT! Yes, Akila is way short. Fuller ball on the stumps, Perera looks to go over mid off but gets more height than distance. Rassie van der Dussen over there back-pedals but cannot get under the ball. Perera wants the strike and so comes back for it. Rassie throws the ball at the non-striker's end and Rabada takes the bails off. The umpire takes it up and the replays show that the spinner is well short. Wonder why, Dananjaya took ages in taking off for the second run. Really poor game awareness.
Lasith Malinga (C)c Imran Tahir b Lungi Ngidi 15 24 2 0 62.5
46.6
L Ngidi to L Malinga, OUT! Straight to the man! Sri Lanka do not play out their 50 overs. Really shocking, given that they were 195/4 in the 37th over. A short ball this one, following the batsman down the leg side, Malinga backs away and looks to pull but finds Imran Tahir to perfection at long on. Ngidi also finishes with a 3-fer, just like the catcher but the only difference is that the pacer has gone for aplenty. SOUTH AFRICA NEED 232 TO WIN!
Lakshan Sandakanc Quinton de Kock b Anrich Nortje 3 10 0 0 30
43.3
A Nortje to L Sandakan, OUT! MAIDEN ODI WICKET FOR NORTJE! He is all smiles. Has toiled hard and eventually got a scalp, in his 6th over. On a good length around off, Sandakan looks to push at it but the ball moves away and takes the outside edge. It dips on to Quinton de Kock but he dives to his right and takes a very good catch. Still 39 balls left in the innings...

A Dananjaya to de Kock, OUT! LBW! The review does not save de Kock. It is not even clipping, it is HITTING the stumps, which means Quinton takes the review along with him. A wicket at last for Sri Lanka. Is it too late? Perhaps. A decent delivery, landing a shade short than full. QdK went back to flick it to the leg side but the ball spun and then straightened a little. Beat the bat and rapped de Kock on the front pad. Umpire Kettleborough raised his finger and de Kock had a chat with du Plessis, who signalled for the review. Three reds on the Hawk Eye with the ball projected to hit the leg stump. No century for de Kock then but end of a wonderful 136-run stand. Should be enough to take the Proteas to the finish line. Just 82 more needed from 160 balls.
Reeza Hendricksc Niroshan Dickwella b Vishwa Fernando 1 4 0 0 25
1.6
V Fernando to R Hendricks, OUT! Hendricks departs without troubling the scorers much. This is what we are used to seeing from Vishwa Fernando. He gets his deliveries to swing around by throwing it up in the half of the batsman. He serves a full delivery just outside off and the ball curls back in a shade off the seam. Hendricks, minus any footwork, pushes at it tamely and gets a thick inside edge behind. Dickwella reacts quickly to his left and grabs a safe catch by immediately going down low. Early blow to South Africa in their run chase and Vishwa is all pumped up.
