Despite most of Australia A’s batsmen getting starts, they couldn't capitalise on it in the tour game against England at Hobart. England’s bowlers bowled incisively to make early inroads in Australia A's innings.
 
Test hopeful, Alex Doolan was the one who top scored in Australia A’s innings by scoring 31 runs. Shaun Marsh and South Australian veteran right-handed batsmen Michael Klinger and Callum Ferguson respectively, too got starts. Another Test aspirant, Usman Khawaja didn’t help his cause by getting out very early in his innings for just 3 runs to James Anderson’s bowling.
