Former Test cricketer Arun Lal predicted it right just before the start of the Test match that spinners will get good help from the wicket. 

Graeme Swann piucked up five of the eight Indian wickets to fall on the first day. Kevin Pietersen and Samit Patel accounted for two more.

While, Indian spinners laid England batsmen low reducing them to 41 for three. Ravichandran Ashwin picked up tw wickets while Pragyan Ojha credited one to his name.
