Former cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin on Wednesday expressed disappointment on the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) being banned by the International Olympic Committee for alleged government interference in holding elections.

He also criticized the manner in which the elections were held. Adding further, he also maintained that the sports bodies should be run according to tough rules and regulations.

Earlier, former cricketer Kirti Azad has said that there is too much of politics in sport in India.
