The fifth and final ODI between England and Pakistan became memorable for a Pakistani fan who watched it live from the stands at the Sophia Gardens, Cardiff. He would not have imagined a visit to the stadium will earn him a trip to Australia. But it has happened as the Pakistani supporter will now fly to Australia, courtesy a splendid catch that he took. ALSO READ: VIDEO: Liam Plunkett’s incredible athleticism brings Hasan Ali’s innings to an end.

During Pakistan’s chase, when Sarfraz Ahmed was going hammer and tongs, the same fan was cheering every single boundary hit by the batsman. Moments later, Sarfraz came down the track to hit a Chris Woakes delivery over the boundary ropes for a six. The ball just managed to clear Ben Stokes and the boundary line to land in the safe hands of the fan, who took a one-handed blinder to pouch the catch safely on the other side of the boundary line.

The fan had to lean over the boundary hoarding to hold on to the catch but he managed to pull off the effort cleanly, without falling over. The overjoyed fan celebrated with others around him as Stokes too gave him a high-five before reclaiming the ball. His happiness was justified as the catch won him a trip to Australia courtesy of a fan-catch promotion! Later, Pakistan winning the game was an icing on the cake for him.
