Dravid made his first-class debut for Karnataka against Maharashtra in February 1991. His ODI debut was against Sri Lanka in Singapore, April 3, 1996 where he scored just three runs in India's win.


He scored 95 on Test debut against England at Lord's, batting at No. 7 in June 1996.


Dravid’s first Test century (148) was against South Africa at Johannesburg in January 1997.

He is the second highest run-getter from 164 Tests and has scored 13,288 in Test cricket


Out of 36 Test centuries, his 21 centuries came in overseas Tests.


Hit is maiden double-ton (200*) in Tests against Zimbabwe at Delhi in November 2000.


He was the first Indian to score four Test centuries on the trot – 115, 148, 217 and 100 not out against England and the West Indies (last) respectively between August and October of 2002.
