A video showing former Australia captain and the second-highest run-scorer in Test cricket, Ricky Ponting, announcing his retirement from Test cricket.

Ponting said that the third and final Test match against South Africa starting Friday at Perth would be his last. However, he said he would still continue to play for Tasmania and the Big Bash League.

The 37-year-old said that he made the decision after reviewing his performance in the series so far and said that it hasn't been "to the level I feel is required for batsman and players in the Australian team".

Describing the Perth Test as "a grand final", Ponting said that he is focused on winning the match that would clinch the series.
