Out of contention to make it to the semifinals, South Africa outplayed Sri Lanka in the 35th match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019  at the Riverside Ground in Chester-le-Street on Friday.

Dwaine Pretorius and Chris Morris scalped three wickets each while Kagiso Rabada got two wickets as South Africa bowled out the Dimuth Karunaratne-led side for 203.

The Proteas chased down the total with 76 balls to spare as skipper Faf du Plessis and Hashim Amla put up an unbeaten 175-run stand to seal South Africa’s nine-wicket win.
