Glenn Maxwell produced a match-winning 113 to become the third batsman to score three Twenty20 international hundreds, his exceptional innings taking Australia to a 2-0 series sweep of India in Bangalore on Wednesday. (READ: Maxwell’s century leads Australia to historic series win)

Chasing 191, Australia won with seven wickets and two deliveries remaining with Maxwell the hero with 113 off 55 balls.

This made him the third batsman after Rohit Sharma and Colin Munro to reach three figures in T20Is. (SCORECARD: INDIA vs AUSTRALIA, 2nd T20I)

Rohit, the leading run-getter in T20Is, has four hundreds in 86 T20I innings. Munro, the New Zealand opener, has three from 49.

In January 2018, Munro became the first batsman to score three T20I hundreds when he made 104 versus West Indies. Rohit matched that mark in July 2018 with 100* against England in Bristol and then in November scored his record fourth against West Indies in Lucknow.

Maxwell, in his 53rd T20I innings, also got to three hundreds. (READ: Virat Kohli levels with Shoaib Malik at third spot in all-time T20I run list)

His first came in September 2016 in Sri Lanka, when he smashed an unbeaten 145 off 65 balls to power Australia to a then record T20I total of 263/3.

His second came in February 2018, an unbeaten 103 from 58 deliveries to seal a five-wicket win over England in Hobart.

Like those two hundreds, Wednesday’s was also unbeaten. The 2-0 win over India is Australia’s first series success in the format in a year.
