India captain Virat Kohli has moved to joint third place in the list of all-time run-getters in Twenty20 internationals, during his electric 72 not out off 38 deliveries against Australia in Bangalore on Wednesday.

That innings, featuring six sixes and two fours, took Kohli equal with Pakistan allrounder Shoaib Malik‘s mark of 2263 runs.

Kohli also has 2263 but from just 62 innings, at an average of 50.28 and strike-rate of 137.40. (SCORECARD: INDIA vs AUSTRALIA, 2nd T20I)

Those with more runs in T20Is are his team-mate Rohit Sharma with 2331 from 86 innings and New Zealand opener Martin Guptill with 2272 from 74.
