The 40th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2014 is going to be played out between the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and the Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack. Kolkata, having won their last two matches, will be looking to carry forward their good form and make it three in a row. Mumbai, too won their last match against Hyderabad and will be looking for a victory in this crucial tie.
Bot the teams made poor starts to their campaigns this season, but have gradually found form. The last time Kolkata played in Cuttack, they had won. They are expected to win the toss and bat first in this tie.
KKR have depended a lot on Gautam Gambhir and Robin Uthappa at the top of the order to set up the platform for their recent successful chases, and these two men are expected to fire against Mumbai as well. Apart from Rohit Sharma for Mumbai, Ambati Rayudu too has found some form going with two consecutive fifties in the last two matches. And both these batsmen are expected to fire against Kolkata.
Star spinner, Sunil Narine isn’t expected to come up with the goods this time round. All-rounder Corey Anderson too is expected to flop against Kolkata.
Predictions suggest Kolkata will have the last laugh in this encounter and could win the match by a rough margin of around 10 runs. Looks like we are in for a close encounter.
