England batsman Michael Carberry has been diagnosed with a cancerous tumour and his county Hampshire have confirmed the same. The left-handed opening batsman felt unwell and missed the County Championship match against Warwickshire. The 35-year-old missed an England Performance Programme tour in late 2010 and a major part of the 2011 season due to blood clots on a lung. He was a part of England’s disastrous Ashes campaign in 2013-14 in Australia. The Hampshire pro has played six Tests for England, averaging 28.75.
