Tears welled in Tendulkar’s eyes while remembering his guru during his speech after his farewell Test. On Guru Purnima, Tendulkar paid a visit to his aging guru along with former cricketers and Achrekar students Atul Ranade and Sameer Dighe and took blessings from him.
Guru Purnima is a festival dedicated to spiritual and academic teachers and it’s traditionally celebrated by Hindus, Jains and Buddhists, to pay their respects to their teachers and express their gratitude. Tendulkar may have touched the skies with his achievements, but he remains the most devoted student to his guru and his gesture on this day says volumes about the man.”
