Shoaib Akhtar impressed by Virat Kohli’s elegant match finishing quality

Virat Kohli is probably the best shorter formats batsman in contemporary cricket. He’s been the spine of Indian batting line up and led the batting attack with immense confidence in the recent times. In the high-voltage game between India and Pakistan in the ICC World T20 2016 at Kolkata on Saturday, Kohli once again stood up when his team needed the most and fired a much needed half-century to carry his team over the line.

India lost quick wickets inside five overs and were in a delicate situation when Kohli and Yuvraj Singh were at the crease. The duo put up a healthy yet match winning stand of 58 runs between them after which Yuvraj was dismissed in an attempt to earn a priceless six. Kohli stuck to his grounds and batted till the end for his scintillating 55.

Kohli earned accolades for his determined outing with the bat many cricketing greats praised him for his marvellous show with the bat. Former Pakistan speedster Shoaib Akhtar on this occasion took to his Twitter handle where he praised Kohli for his fantastic match finishing quality and wrote, “Virat is the best finisher of the game I ever seen in last 20 year of my career..but Pak team tried their best but just couldn’t finish it”

Akhtar has been a close observer of the game and has been connected with the game even after his retirement through commentating; he is also seen in the analysis of the game which often takes place after the match. Kohli is inarguably one of the best finishers of the game and if India have to lift the tile once again, Kohli will definitely have to score a lot of runs. As of now Indian dug out will be relaxed as they have won their fifth game against Pakistan in World T20 without losing a single one.
