Though Rahul Dravid mentioned that losing a World Cup final as a player and then as a coach is a complete different feeling, you cannot stop fans from comparing the two moments. In ICC Cricket World Cup 2003, Dravid was India’s wicketkeeper and performed exceedingly well as India made it to the final of the tournament. They were beaten there by a dominant Australian side led by Ricky Ponting.
Thirteen years later, Dravid as a coach of the Indian Under-19 side, guided the team to the final where they lost against West Indies. Until the final, India were unbeaten. Dravid is a man, who is loved in India and stands as one of the most respected figures of the game. Fans hoped the young men did the job for Dravid.
