West Indies is a different world together and it seems that the time stops there. Not bothered about the hustle bustle of the rest of the world, the ‘maans’ from the Caribbean love to live their life by the beach, relaxing and celebrating. The scene is no different in Antigua, Viv Richards‘ home country, which is the host of the first Test of the India-West Indies series.

During the final drinks session of in the Day 1, Richards was in the commentary box alongside Sanjay Manjrekar, who was quite perplexed by the fact that West Indies despite being a couple of overs behind their over-rate, showed no urgency during the interval. Also Read: Virat Kohli and his gang bonds with Viv Richards

“When the drinks were being taken no one seemed to hurry as they are seven overs short,” said Manjrekar.

Richards was quick to defend his side and attributed the problem to the laidback lifestyle in the West Indies. “That reminds you that you are in the Caribbean. Here they are not bothered about the watch. Anytime is Caribbean time.”
