Hosts Brazil will be looking to book their berth in the second round of the FIFA World Cup 2014 when they face Mexico on Wednesday in a Group A encounter at the Estadio Castelao. Brazil had a controversial 3-1 win against Croatia in the World Cup’s opening match while Mexico had a hard-earned 1-0 win over Cameroon, reports EFE.

Brazil will look to clinch three points and guarantee qualification and coach Luis Felipe Scolari will not make major changes in his starting eleven or tactics, except for the doubts over Hulk’s participation due to a leg injury. Miguel Herrera’s Mexico will be a tough opponent for the hosts, after an impressive display against Cameroon. Their striking force, Giovanni dos Santos, Oribe Peralta and Javier Hernandez will pose a threat.

Hulk said on Sunday that Brazil are not thinking about a place in round of 16 and are focussed on the clash against Mexico. Mexicos coach Herrera on the other hand said that his team will not be too defensive and will look to play for the three points against Brazil.

Brazil and Mexico have met 38 times in the past. Brazil have won 22, Mexico 10 and drew six times. Their last meeting was in the 2013 Confederations Cup that Brazil won 2-0.
