James Anderson and Stuart Broad continue after lunch. Bravo and Brathwaite are circumspect after the early dismissal of Smith. Bravo has hit four boundaries in his 19, but has hardly taken singles. The English bowlers have kept things tight but have not found the necessary penetration.
Live cricket score West Indies: 22/1 | Overs 6
BATSMEN: Kraigg Brathwaite 5(15), Darren Bravo 15(14)
The West Indians have done a great job with the ball on Day Four, but it is now up to their batsmen to make them proud. James Anderson starts with a maiden over. Stuart Broad continues from the other end. Anderson again, AND HE’S GOT HIS MAN! Devon Smith looked to leave that one alone, but leaves it too late and drags it on instead! Darren Bravo is the new man in, and he has started off in outstanding fashion. He smacks Moeen Ali for two boundaries in the final over before lunch to excite the West Indian fans!
OUT! Devon Smith 2(7) b James Anderson
So, despite Joe Root’s best efforts the other English batsmen ensured that neither Root got a double ton, nor did their lead extend to 2oo. Good fielding, poor running, and sensible bowling from the West Indians ensured that England are only 165 runs ahead.
Live cricket score England: 464 | Overs 144.1
BATSMEN: Joe Root 182(229)
Joe Root is playing the type of innings that separate the ordinary players from the very, very good ones. OUT! OH DEAR, TERRIBLE RUNNING FROM JAMES ANDERSON! Root was on his way to a double ton if only Anderson could have supported him. This is ridiculous running from someone as experienced as Anderson. He gave up and stopped running, the throw was horrible, but since he did not bother running Jason Holder had enough time to whip off the bails.
OUT! James Anderson 0(1) run out
Live cricket score England: 431/9 | Overs 138
BATSMEN: Joe Root 151(203), James Anderson 0(1)
Kemar Roach and Devendra Bishoo continue to bowl. Chris Jordan has batted quite well today. His batting is a massive plus for England, coming in at No. 9. Despite the fact that Stuart Broad has a Test hundred to his name, Jordan looks like a technically better batsman. OH HE’S GONE! Needless run out, Chris Jordan has to go! Broad is the new man in. AND HE DOESN’T LAST LONG EITHER!

Kemar Roach replaces Shannon Gabriel in the attack, but Devendra Bishoo continues from his end. Roach is not as quick as he used to be, but he is keeping it tight. Jordan meanwhile is offering the full face of the bat. He has shown good technique in the past as well. Bishoo keeping things tidy as well.
Live cricket score England: 389/7 | Overs 128
BATSMEN: Joe Root 124(175), Chris Jordan 1(1)
Shannon Gabriel and Devendra Bishoo resume on Day Four. Neither man was in the team for the previous Test, and both men have done exceedingly well so far. Good start so far, nine runs off the first three overs of the day. OH HE’S GONE! First wicket of the day, Bishoo snaps up Buttler! Excellent ball, completely deceived Buttler who ran past it. Denesh Ramdin does the rest. England lose their seventh!
OUT! Jos Buttler 13(30) st Denesh Ramdin b Devendra Bishoo

Joe Root scores century during England vs West Indies Day 3, 2nd Test at Grenada
Root and Jos Buttler will look to bat for as long as possible and extend their lead at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium at Grenada. Root told AFP, “I’m feeling good, the movement’s good, so obviously you’ve got to cash in at times like this and score as many as you can while things are going so well. We’ve got plenty of batting left in that dressing room and we’ll want to get a big lead and only bat once.”
Root’s ton was scored in quick time, coming in only 125 balls with 13 boundaries and two sixes. He and Gary Ballance added a sublime 165 for the fourth wicket before Ballance was out for 77 against the run of play. Moeen Ali and Ben Stokes did not do much either, as England crashed from 329 for three to 364 for six. West Indies vs England 2015: Devendra Bishoo eager to make an impact in 2nd Test
Ben Stokes didn’t last long, playing a poor shot off Devendra Bishoo to be taken by Jermaine Blackwood on the midwicket boundary. He received an amusing but controversial send-off by Marlon Samuels following the on-field tussle the duo had while Samuels was batting. Earlier, Alastair Cook could only make 76 as he became the first Shannon Gabriel’s first victim. He was out playing on yet again. Alastair Cook becomes England’s second highest run-scorer in Tests during West Indies vs England, 2nd Test at Grenada
In batsman-friendly conditions, Cook and fellow opener Jonathan Trott chose to preserve their wickets rather than go for gold. The move paid off, as they put on 125 for the first wicket — the first century stand for the opening wicket for England since March 2013. Bishoo got the first breakthrough when he dismissed Trott for 59. England tour of West Indies 2015: Complete coverage
