Afghanistan’s top-order batsman Rahmat Shah, who made 72 against Sri Lanka in his team’s 91-run win, stated that his team feels confident of beating big team in big matches.

“We are confident of playing the big teams and beating them in the big matches,” Shah said as quoted by Khaleej Times.

“If you see our team combination, it’s very good. We have good all-rounders and good spinners. We are not here to give tough time to India and Pakistan, we are here to win these matches,” he said.

Afghanistan have been in good form in the ODIs this year winning 12 out of the 17 matches that they have played this year and Shah feels they have been able to do that owing to the right balance of the team.

Our first target was to qualify for the Super Four. We have already qualified. Now we want more. If you see our team combination, it’s very good. We have good all-rounders and good spinners. We are not here to give tough time to India and Pakistan, we are here to win these matches,” said Shah.
