Winning the toss in the series decider, Bangladesh decided to bat. Tamim Iqbal and Soumya Sarkar were expected to battle hard against the visitors’ bowling who have been accurate with the white ball. Iqbal had a fifty in the first One-Day International (ODI) but Sarkar has failed on both occasions. However, Sarkar continued to have a bad run in the series as the first wicket fell for 23 on the board. Sarkar was out for 11. Till the time of publishing reports, Bangladesh were cruising at 163 for 2 in 30.3 overs with Rahman getting out for 65. The pair had added 140 runs for the second wicket and have given their side a good platform to consolidate.

Bangladesh won the first ODI by a whisker coming from behind to win by 7 runs. The second ODI was also in Bangladesh’s hand for most part of their batting but they flattered as Mohammad Nabi and Rashid Shah chipped in with regular wickets and dented their progress. Bangladesh did not allow Afghanistan to get past the run chase easily but Afghanistan emerged victorious by 3 wickets, in the end.
