Suresh Raina looked solid for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) against Mumbai Indians (MI) in the Eliminator of IPL 2014. Pragyan Ojha bowled the 12th over of the innings. He started off well, conceding just five off the first three deliveries. He then bowled three dot balls in a row to stifle the scoring of CSK.
Harbhajan Singh bowled the 11th over, and went for just two off the first three balls. Suresh Raina broke the shackles with a six off the fourth delivery, to get the 666th six of IPL 7. CSK scored just nine off the over, as they cruised to the total.
Pragyan Ojha came on to bowl the 10th over of the innings. After McCullum was dropped off the second ball of the over — the ball also went for six — he was stumped by Aditya Tare off a delighted Ojha. New man David Hussey got a single off the first ball. Another dot ball off the final ball meant that just nine runs were scored off the over.
Earlier, Chennai Super Kings went hammer and tongs at Mumbai Indians bowlers in the early overs and had raced to 60 for no loss in absolutely no time at all. Just like his counterpart MS Dhoni, Rohit Sharma also turned to his spinners and for wickets and he was immediately rewarded from the wrists of the wily old hands of Harbhajan Singh. Both batsmen fell in identical fashion. First Smith went big on the leg side but only found the massive palms of Kieron Pollard.
Corey Anderson was brought back for a few more overs and Anderson’s New Zealand skipper had a taste of the fury of the burly compatriot when the ball hit his grill and broke his helmet. The double strike had certainly rocked the former champions and a bit of caution was thrown at the crease before Suresh Raina spanked to the covers for a boundary. Harbhajan continued be menacing. The wicket was turning but McCullum calmed the nerves with a colossal six over long-off.
