Chris Gayle scored 215 — registering the highest individual score in the history of the World Cup cricket tournaments. Chris Gayle’s score of 215 is also the third highest overall in ODI cricket history. The world record of the highest score in the ODI Cricket belongs to Rohit Sharma, who scored 264 versus Sri Lanka last year. The second highest score also belongs to an Indian cricketer, Virender Sehwag, who smashed 219 versus West Indies in December 2011. During his innings of 215 versus Zimbabwe, Chris Gayle smashed 16 sixes and 10 boundaries and faced 147 balls. This was the quickest double century from the West Indian cricketer. Chris Gayle slammed the fifth double century in the history of the One-Day International (ODI) cricket, during the 15th match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 tournament.
