Captain of Somerset women’s team and English bowler Anya Shrubsole revealed that she has no problem if the club decides to retain Chris Gayle. Gayle has recently been fined £ 4,900 for his indecent behaviour on field. During a live interview, the cricketer asked the reporter out for a date. Shrubsole, as quoted by BBC, said the decision is upon the Somerset officials. “If Somerset decided he was remorseful and wanted to sign him that would be no problem for me,” were her exact words. As far as the club’s decision are considered, they reportedly yet to come up with their final verdict. READ: COMPLETE COVERAGE: Chris Gayle sexist remark to Australian journalist controversy

Shrubsole, When asked if it would bother her to play under the same club name as the West Indies cricketer, Shrubsole stated, “No, not at all. It’s Somerset’s decision entirely as to whether they want him to come back or not. He was exceptional when he was here in those three T20 games and the amount of runs he scored was unbelievable.” Though she is comfortable about playing in Somerset despite the verdict, she mentioned that the cricketer’s comments were “inappropriate”. She went on to add, “The matter has been dealt with and Melbourne themselves have come out and punished him and I think the matter will be closed.” READ: Chris Gayle denies exposing to woman in ICC Cricket World Cup 2015
