Yuzvendra Chahal came in to bowl the eighth over and started well giving away just one run off the first two balls he bowled before inducing a false shot from Kallis that was caught by Starc at square leg. Unfortunately, Starc’s foot touched the ropes so it was a six in stead of a wicket for Kolkata Knight Riders in their match against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the eleventh match of IPL 2014.
Murali came in to bowl the seventh over, and was greeted with a huge six by Lynn over midwicket. Lynn wasn’t done, as he slog swept the fifth ball of the over square leg for another six. Murali was taken for 15 off the over.
Earlier, Chris Lynn is leading the charge for Kolkata Knight Riders after they lost two quick wickets against Royal Challengers Bangalore. KKR are 42 for two in six overs. Lynn is batting with Jacques Kallis.
Virat Kohli has left the field after the last ball of the fifth over hit him on the jaw. Lynn stroked two boundaries in the fifth over from Albie Morkel.
Earlier, Varun Aaron was called upon to bowl the fourth over as KKR were struggling after a couple of quick wickets in their third match of the IPL against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Aaron worked up decent pace as he beat the bat of Kallis once, and induced a false pull the next ball. Kallis was lucky that it did not go to a fielder. Lynn showcased his talent by striking Aaron for a four off the penultimate delivery of the over.
Starc came in to bowl the third over and started very well against Kallis, bowling five dot balls to him in a row, until Kallis cut him for a boundary off the last ball to spoil his figures.
KKR lost the wicket of their skipper Gautam Gambhir for duck in their third match of the Indian premier League (IPL) against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Thursday. The slide continued as Manish Pandey too was dismissed for five. Kolkata were 17 for two in two overs.
Mitchell Starc opened the bowling for RCB and struck on the third ball of the over. Gambhir was done in by a yorker and missed it completely. It was an easy decision for the umpire. This is Gambhir’s third duck in a row, two of which were golden duck. Starc maintained a tight line getting the ball to rise from short of good length.
Gambhir’s dismissal has often given more opportunities at the start to the in-form No 3 Pandey. But Pandey couldn’t do much. He hit a four and then couldn’t keep a leading edge down. Virat Kohli took a sharp catch at short point.
