Colin Munro’s extravagant fifty powers Trinbago Knight riders (TKR) to a 7-wicket win over Barbados Tridents (BT) in Match 16 of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2016 at Bridgetown, Barbados. With this win TKR jump above BT in the points table to 6 points from 6 games. TKT have kept themselves alive in the tournament and will look to grow from strength to strength from here. BT put up a decent toal of 172 for 4 on the board.  It was Kieron Pollard’s merciless hitting that took BT to a competitive score.  Shoaib Malik and AB de Villiers chipped in with 47 and 45 respectively. Dwayne Bravo picked up a couple of wickets, so did left-arm spinner Sulieman Benn. Full Cricket Updates , BT vs TKR, CPL 2016, Match 16 at Bridgetown

In reply, TKR lost the wicket of William Perkins in the fifth over of the innings. Munro then joined Hashim Amla in the middle and started going after the bowlers immediately. Amla on the other hand was happy to pick up the ones and give the strike back to Munro. The duo added 107 for the second wicket in quick time that tilted the match in TKR’s favour. Amla went for 31 and was followed back in the hut by Munro for a 39-ball 68. Denesh Ramdin and Dwayne Bravo finished things off for TKR in the end.

Bravo, on his way to an unbeaten 23, became the fourth West Indies player after Chris Gayle, Kieron Pollard and Dwayne Smith to go past the 5,000-run mark in T20s. Earlier, it was TKR, who had won the toss and elected to bowl first.
