Harbhajan Singh wishes Sourav Ganguly luck after being chosen as CAB President

Jagmohan Dalmiya's son Avishek has taken over as Joint Secretary of CAB.

India off-spinner Harbhajan Singh has wished newly-appointed President of Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) Sourav Ganguly luck after he was earlier as the successor of Jagmohan Dalmiya to the post. He was appointed after West Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee held a meeting with CAB officials and made the announcement of the same. Ganguly, who was the Joint Secretary of the CAB was elevated from his post and given the post of Presidency and Dalmiya’s son Avishek was given the post of Joint Secretary, left vacant by Ganguly. Harbhajan has been picked in the Indian squad that will play South Africa in the upcoming series, which will consist of four Tests, five One-Day Internationals and three T20 Internationals (T20I). Harbhajan rose through the ranks under the captaincy of Ganguly in the early 2000s and has often credited him for his success. The Indian team is currently preparing for the tour at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) at Bangalore. Harbhajan had earlier arranged for a private screening of a Bollywood movie for his temmates and badminton player Saina Nehwal at Bangalore. Dalmiya had passed away at the age of 75 at the B M Birla hospital after suffering from a heart attack on September 20. He joined the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in 1979 and became its treasurer in 1983. He played a key role in securing rights to stage the World Cups in South Asia in 1987 and 1996.
