With his stylish cricket and lively on-field presence, young Hardik Pandya has already made a lot of fans, and the number of females in the list seems to be higher. Bollywood actress Parineeti Chopra and television show host and model Shivani Dandekar have been seen interacting with the cricketer via their social media platforms. However, despite all the limelight that his son is attracting, Hardik’s father Himanshu Pandya is confident that his son will never be distracted from his one true love – cricket. “I’m not aware of why my son is getting female attention. Maybe it’s due to his playing style and role in Indian cricket. But we don’t have any issue, let him enjoy his life. This happens with all cricketers. When they come in the limelight, they get attention from all quarters,” Himanshu told Deccan Chronicle about all the hype created around his son.
“He is mentally strong and his game will not be affected due to the sudden female attention he is getting. He hit three consecutive sixes recently. This was the fourth occasion. We are waiting for the day when he hits six sixes in an over. That day will not be far off,” he added.
As long as the young ones perform up to the mark, India Head Coach, Ravi Shastri, hardly has anything to complain about. “This is the modern generation. I want them to do whatever they want to do off the field. Once they are on the field, they should focus on cricket and on their work ethics,” he had said a few days back.
Team India captain and one of Hardik’s closest in the team, Virat Kohli too thinks the same way.
“A lot of people focus on a lot of other things about Hardik, which I don’t think should be anyone else’s problem. He has his own journey and he is finding his own way,” is what the captain had said in a recent interview.
