Perth: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) team will arrive in Perth on Thursday ahead of their ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 clash against India. UAE are due to face India on Saturday at the WACA, Perth. UAE have had a couple of good matches, although they have not ended on the winning side. Their batting in particular, has done very well, but they have not been able to defend the totals. Their defeat to Ireland was a close finish, where the opposition sailed through in the dying stages. UAE have shown good fight at a time when there is a talk about a 10-team World Cup in 2019. UAE and India have played each other on two occasions in the past. The first time was back in 1994, when India beat them by 71 runs in the Austral-Asia Cup encounter. Then in 2004, the two teams faced off in the Asia Cup in Sri Lanka, where Rahul Dravid’s century helped India register an easy win. Mohammad Tauqir and Khurram Khan, the captain and vice-captain, of the current UAE team had featured in that Asia Cup game in 2004. Tauqir had scored a fifty.
