ICC World T20 2016 is set to be officially launched on Friday in Mumbai by Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The world cricket body revealed this news via their official Twitter account with a collage of images of the winners of tournament so far—India, Pakistan, England, West Indies and Sri Lanka. The logo of ICC World T20 2016 was unveiled yesterday. ICC had also shared a premier to the event on Twiiter, saying: “#WT20 It’s coming to India for the very first time, March 2016.” The mega event will begin on March 11 and the final will be played on April 3 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. After a gap of 28 years the ground is set to host a mega final. Bangalore, Chennai, Dharamshala, Mohali, Mumbai, Nagpur and New Delhi are the other locations which will play host to matches. However, Chennai might not hold any of the games as reported earlier in the year. ICC wants all the stands at the venue need to be available for ticket sales for it to pass the litmus test. Three stands — marked I, J and K — have been shut for the last three years due to a dispute between the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) and the Chennai Corporation, with the former having administrative powers over certain areas of the stadium.
