Kerala allrounder Jalaj Saxena, who was once again ignored by the selectors when they picked five different India A squads for series against Sri Lanka A and West Indies A in Tuesday, took to twitter to express his disappointment for the latest snub.
Saxena wrote, “What have I done so terribly wrong to deserve this?”, a day after BCCI announced the squads for two four-day and five one-day matches against Sri Lanka ‘A’ to be played from May 25 and the ‘A’ team for the West Indies ‘A’ tour which will play three four-day & five one-day matches starting July 11.
What have I done so terribly wrong, to deserve this?

With 551 runs at 39.35 and 28 wickets at 21.89 in the Ranji Trophy 2018-19 season, Saxena was the standout allrounder of the tournament and played a crucial role in Kerala’s maiden semi-final appearance. ALSO READ: I have got the awards, but still waiting for the rewards: Jalaj Saxena
Since the 2012-13 Ranji Trophy season, the MP-born allrounder has scored over 300 runs each year, including 821 and 768 runs on two separate seasons – and claimed over 20 wickets every time, with returns of 45, 39 and 44 wickets underlining his potency, yet has managed to play only just four List A matches and four first-class games for India representational sides. After being ignored by the IPL franchises in the past few years, Saxena was picked up by Delhi Capitals, but failed to get in to the playing XI. He last played for India A in February earlier this year against England Lions, returning seven wickets in two matches.
Saxena has time and again expressed his anguish and frustration on not being given opportunities and his consistent performance both with the bat and the ball too have gone unnoticed.
