The All-India Junior Selection Committee has named Priyam Garg as captain of the India Under-23 squad to face Bangladesh Under-23s for five one-day matches in Raipur next month.

The 15-member squad led by Garg contains two wicketkeepers in BR Sharath and Aryan Juyal, as well as three other players from India Under-19s recent tour of England - Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubhang Hegde and Kartik Tyagi.

Garg, 18, has played 10 first-class matches for Uttar Pradesh with a highest score of 206. He has come up the ranks of UP's age-group cricket and has featured for India U-19s too.

Earlier this month, Garg captained India U-19s to a one-day triangular series title in England.

Jaiswal, 17, made his first-class debut this year for Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy and batted at No 3. He made 20 and 0 not out. Hedge, 18, also made his first-class debut in 2019, taking four wickets for Karnataka against Baroda.

Allrounder Tyagi, also 18, played one first-class match for UP in 2017 and five List A matches in 2018.
